Works as expected

First one bad, second one ok.
I had purchased two of these filters and wrote a review about the first filter. The review has been removed as it was only a one star. The first filter had a good bit of silicone lubricant in the orifice that got into the filter and kept the water tasting bad for quite a while. Thus the 1 star rating for the first one. The second filter, I made a point to clean out any excess lubricant from the filter inlet and left just a slight film. The filter has worked great with no bad taste at all. I have not noticed any discolor in the water, as we get a few different sources of water from our municipal supply. The taste is almost comparable, but not quite to the genuine Maytag filter I had previously purchased from big orange hardware store.

the third party Amazon supplier was super in the way they handled the return
There is probably nothing at all wrong with these filters except they did not fit my Kenmore refrigerator. The specifications for the filter said they would fit, but the point where they screw into the source water line was different from the current filter in place. If you have a Kenmore 9005 refrigerator, don't buy this. For all others, you'll have to try the filter. I'm sure the problem was an anomaly.By the way, the third party Amazon supplier was super in the way they handled the return. No problems there.

Amazing taste.
Just replaced this filter and was amazed at the difference in the taste of my water! I just ordered another one just to make sure I can quickly replace it as soon as needed. I definitely recommend following the directions... soak and flush before use. You won't be disappointed.

Great tasting water I will consider buying this in the future
This is a very cost-effective alternative to buying the brand name for my refrigerator. The water and the ice taste delicious. I will definitely consider buying this brand in the future.
