Herb Pharm Cramp Bark Extract for Musculoskeletal Support - 1 Ounce (DCRAMP01)

I waited two menstrual cycles to test this baby out. Yes, the smell is strong but not bad, that is just how the herb smells, and herbs will always smell good! I am not saying I got used to it, I just hold my nose closed whenever I drink this, I don't care how weird it looks, it helps me to drink this beauty easier. Please, do add this liquefied herb to some sort of drink, like water, juice, soda.. Personally, just as soon as the drink covers the bottom of the glass, that's all the juice or water I use to take this herb (and if you take this without anything to drink it will sting your throat a bit, I did it once). Now, on to the results, first time I took it, no NSAID, I did take it every 3-5 hours during the cramp time-period, I still had my usual lower back pain, but I endure it for the sake of testing the herb out, the cramps were slightly less stronger than the usual though. second time taking it, absolutely no NSAID (ibuprofen, naproxen), I took the herb a day before my actual period arriving, and began taking it every 3-4 hours, when my period arrived, no cramp pain, no bloating, no back pain, I continued to take the herb for the next 24 hours. After the 24 hour period was up, I stopped taking it. No pain for the rest of my cycle. Now, some things for you to know from my case: I have a regular 3-4 day menstrual cycle, though I do have cramps, they are not hospital/child-birth pains (my sister is the one who experiences these, I am still trying to convince her to take this herb). The bottle CAN serve up to.... like... ~25 menstrual cycles, this bottle contains a lot of the herb for its size, but remember, 40 drops every 3 hours before the cycle hits, and THE DAY OF, is what I USED. After that, I stopped on both trials. Try it ladies if you have done your research on this herb, also, search on Black Haw, this is a complementary herb that also works with your cycles (I have not tried it, but I have read on it). My daughter uses this every month and it is amazing, it helps incredibly for cycle cramps! I wish I had known about this when I needed it! The smell and taste is really strong and kind of foul ;-) so she puts it in orange juice!

Okay...so the taste and smell are less than desirable...at first. At first my brain associated the smell and taste with dirty socks. Once your body realizes how well it works on pain, your body/brain may do what mine did. I no longer associate it with dirty socks...I associate the smell and taste with feeling much better very quickly!!! The taste does not bother me at all anymore. I use this and Herb Pharm's Skullcap to fix my aches and pains. The only pain I can't fix with one or the other or combining the two is nerve pain associated with my herniated disk. OTC pain medicine never helped that pain either so...as far as I can tell it works as well as OTC pain relievers and faster!! Within 20 minutes I can kick a headache, sore throat, serious back pain, severe gut pain associated with spastic colon/IBS, severe menstrual cramps, etc. with these lovely little drops!!! Instead of using OTC pain meds that destroy your kidneys and liver...try this out!!! When the pain is really severe I use this and Herb Pharm's Skullcap together. It takes up to an hour for them to kick really severe pain but it really does work miracles!! I also suggest that you use it consistently when you are in real pain (a few drops here and a few drops there to keep the pain away after the first full dose). THANK YOU HERB PHARM AND CRAMPBARK!!! UPDATE: I have discovered Jamaica Dogwood from Herb Pharm and I highly suggest it to all pain sufferers!!! I combine it with cramp bark for severe pain. I still use the Skullcap...but more for pain when I'm trying to relax or sleep. Jamaica Dogwood works on all pain including nerve pain. I finally can live pain-free with my herniated disk. When I recently started to get a flair up of sciatica (caused by herniated disk), I combined it with willow bark also from Herb Pharm, which is an anti-inflammatory (not to be used with any NSAIDs), which caused my sciatica to almost completely go away in 1 hour of taking the first dose. With in 4 days of using the combination my sciatica was GONE...instead of 30 chiropractor visits and tons of physical therapy which used to take up to 4 months to heal. You gotta' love herbs!!!

I bought this to help with monthly cramps, as I wanted to reduce my usage of ibuprofen and other over the counter pain relievers. This product is effective and gentle, it just seems to melt away the pain. In fact there were several times I had even forgotten I had taken it until I realized the pain was gone. My one issue is with the taste. I really really hate the way it tastes and smells. I can't even describe it other than feet and perfume maybe? To me it is similar to Valerian, horrid smell, but highly effective for me. So I will continue to use it because my desire to move towards healthier living outweighs the odor right now. (Just don't spill it, it takes a looooong time to air out your purse :)
