Easy to set up
Nothing to dislike, plugged into my desktop computer, windows 10 recognised it, put my WiFi password in, and immediately started to work. Well worth the money.

Useful WiFi Adaptor
This is easy Plug-and-play installation, especially on Windows 10 and 11. I love the way that the antenae can be folded away when not in use. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks for better range and speed. The Wireless AC support offers good speeds, especially on the 5GHz band, though actual performance may vary depending on network conditions and distance from the router and as long as it is plugged into a USB 3.0 socket. Overall, the adapter is a reliable option for adding or upgrading Wi-Fi connectivity to a desktop PC or laptop. It's particularly well-suited for those who need better range and speed, especially in larger homes or offices.

Easy to use, excellent performance, and the reception is fantastic thanks to the antennas!
The Wi-Fi adapter arrived safely, and it come nicely packaged inside a well-illustrated retail box. I’ve tried the adapter with Windows 10 & 11, both installed the drivers automatically without needing the included disk. The disk includes the REALTEK USB Wireless LAN Utility which provides more advanced settings for the adapter but its not required. Windows picks the adapter up as a Realtek 8812BU Wireless card. Obviously because of the design Its quite a large USB adapter so not only does it stick out quite a bit buts its approx. 3cm wide so if you have another USB port next to it then you won’t be able to use the other port while the adapter is plugged in. The two antennas can be adjusted to pretty much any angle you like. Having external antennas means this adapter has some seriously strong reception, miles better than any other wireless device I own including my S22 Ultra and brand-new laptop. It picks up wireless networks in my area that I haven’t even seen before and when connected to my own network the signal is strong and stable no matter where I go in the house. I have 1Gbps broadband and when connected to my Wi-Fi 6 router the best download speed I have seen using the adapter is around 240Mbps which is more than fast enough for anything I need to do or watch, and it might even be held back by the performance of my laptop which only has an Intel i3 CPU. I also tried the adapter in my gaming pc and found it to be very stable when online gaming, my ping never went higher than 50ms which is the same as I normally get under a wired connection anyway. Another good use for this adapter is if your main wired internet fails and you can use it to hot-spot onto your computer from your phone’s 4G/5G signal. Overall, I really like this Wi-Fi adapter as its easy to use, has fantastic reception, excellent speeds and it performs flawlessly. It’s a great bit of kit that represents excellent value for money and I’m more than happy to recommend it. An easy five stars from me, buy with 100% confidence!

I was sent the wrong item
I was sent EDUP 1300M instead of the EDUP AC1300, as I am on Windows 11 the EDUP 1300M does not work and as I am abroad it is pointless trying to return it.

Dramatic Speed Increases from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz
I have a very old Surface Pro 3 which only supports 2.4Ghz WiFi. Due to the age of the laptop I no longer use it as my main laptop, however i do use it to watch video's in the bathroom. The problem with this is that my bathroom is on the other side of the house and my 2.4Ghz WiFi signal struggles to stream on occasions. I know 5Ghz wifi doesn't have the range of 2.4Ghz but it does have hugely increased bandwidth. I don't think the WiFi card can be changed on the Surface Pro 3 either, so I had limited upgrade options. When I saw this product I decided to give it a go to see if it would help my connection with streaming. My laptop runs Windows 10 and this device was as simple as plugging into the USB port and hey presto it worked - I did not even need to use the driver disc that came with the dongle. I took my laptop up to the bathroom and did two speed tests, one with the normal in built WiFi chip and one with the dongle. I have uploaded pictures of my results. As you can see the proof is in the pudding! With the dongle I was getting a massive speed increase in relation to downloads and a minor increase in upload. The download speed was fantastic with nearly a 10 fold increase in speed. The dongle is pretty chunky.. but that doesn't bother me. It has multi directional antennas which means you can point them towards your router, which in turn may improve the signal. Would I recommend this product? If you need an upgrade to WiFi AC/have an older laptop that doesn't support 5Ghz WiFi signals then definitely! The product does what it is suppose to do and does it well! Even if you have an older desktop and are not tech savy, or just not confident to change the WiFi card, then this really is a plug and play upgrade. Value for money wise it is excellent.

EDUP AC1300 WiFi Dongle Adapter
If you want to add a WiFi connection to a desktop PC or you want to upgrade the wireless connection on an older laptop, then a USB Wireless adapter is a quick and easy way to do it. This particular model from EDUP is a reasonably sized (not the smallest adapter, but definitely not the largest), it is dual band and can work with 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz connections. When using the 2.4Ghz band it supports a maximum data transfer of 400Mbps and upto 867Mbps when using 5Ghz (this is of course under perfect conditions). The adapter connects via a standard USB 3.0 connector that is located on one end of the device, whilst dual aerials are found on the opposite end. The aerials are rotatable/Omni-directional and are high gain 2dBi for increased signal strength. On the top of the adapter is a blue LED indicator light. ***** In The Box ***** 1 x AC1300M Adapter 1 x Mini Driver CD 1 x User Guide ***** Installation / Usage ***** I have only used the adapter on a Windows 10 laptop, as my partner was complaining of poor Wireless speeds, but on Windows 10 the device really is plug and play. Simply connect the dongle to a spare USB port and after just a few seconds Windows recognises it and installs the driver and you are ready to go by using the network setting in the task bar to connect as you usually would. ***** Conclusion ***** Overall, I’m quite pleased with this little adapter from EDUP. It has quite a nice design and the dual aerials definitely help with wireless range – when plugged into my laptop, it finds more than twice as many wireless connections than the built in wireless radio picks up. It is also faster than my built in radio, adding around 60Mbps to the data transfer speed. My only slightly minor issue is that due to the fairly wide form of the adapter, if you have 2 USB ports fairly close together (as they usually are), you won’t be able to fit anything in the adjacent ports. This could be solved easily using a USB extension cable if need be. For around £18.99, I think it offers reasonable value for money although you could probably get an adapter from a more well-known networking brand for around the same price, but definitely worth considering.

Easy to use and an improvement on the existing WI-FI in my laptop
This is a compact device with its fold-down aerials and slots neatly into an existing USB slot. This device is really intended to improve your existing WI-FI provision in your laptop, as the aerials in most laptops are woeful. Alternatively, some desktop computers don’t come with WI-FI built in (believe it or not) and provide this by an M.2 card upgrade. If you don’t fancy opening up your computer and installing such a card with its very fiddly external aerials, then this might be the solution for you. This is a simple device to install with the drivers and setup from the minidisc supplied. The antennas are not the most powerful at 2db gain, so the claim that these are high gain, should really be ‘higher’ gain that what is in your laptop – but we all know to take marketing with a pinch of salt nowadays? I used Vistumbler to analyse the available network access points and signal strengths. The EDUP unit did show an improvement, but not startling. It is a shame that the aerials cannot be swapped out like you can on my TP-link unit where I get far more performance than this, but on the other hand this unit has a quite small footprint, and if you are struggling to get reliable access on a train and don’t want an obtrusive antenna, then this might just suit. Just don’t expect miracles.
