Q: Does it come with pillow cases?

Yes. I ordered queen and split king sheets . They come with two pillow cases, top and bottom sheets.

Q: what is the thread count of these sheets?

Thread count is the number of threads in a square inch of fabric. Counting horizontal and vertical. Micro fiber are very thin that is how they get such high thread counts. This is also why they can easily get holes and tears. If you would like to count them with a microscope you can. The only fabrics that don't have thread counts are fabrics that are not made with threads like pleather , vynal , or similar. I haven't looked through the microscope but these are 1500 to 1800 category.

Q: How do the black sheets hold up after washing? Does the color fade?

I haven't had any issues with any of my sets fading (I have 4 or 5) but I do wash mine in their own cycle on delicates and I use Woolite but it's only 33 minutes for a delicate cycle to run so why not take care to make sure nothing happens to them if my thinking and it's not that much water on that size load.

Q: does the elastic go all the way around the sheet?

Yes, the elastic goes all the way around the fitted sheet. These are the nicest sheets I have ever had :-)
