A Deadly Game: The Untold Story of the Scott Peterson Investigation

Fascinating & Insightful - Full of Disturbing Details
Catherine Crier did a perfectly splendid job of writing a clear, concise, and accurate account of the entire Scott Peterson case, from well before Scott decided to kill Laci, to after the trial, with its perfectly justified verdict, and the sentence of death for Scott. The author also reveals lots of things not told before, which for those of us who want as much truth about something like this that we can get is very important. Hundreds of little details of the actions of Scott Peterson point directly to deliberate murder and guilt. It is my opinion that for anyone who still has lingering doubts that Scott murdered Laci and their unborn son, please read this book. Because it gives us REALITY. And while it is true that sometimes reality is ugly and hard to accept, the truth is STILL the truth. And Catherine Crier tells it in this book. While I never had any doubts that Scott did indeed murder Laci, this book gives me a solid absolute certainty.Scott Peterson is a sociopath, totally. End of Story. My heart goes out to Laci's mother, her entire family, and all their friends. In an odd kind of way, Laci still lives in the hearts of many of us. And this book helps me better understand why.

Excellent content
Fascinating book on the case. I followed the Peterson case from start to finish but was quite surprised by this book & how much of this information was new to me! The wire tap into was fascinating! My only complaint is all the grammatical errors. I'm guessing it is only in the kindle version. In some spots it was extremely frustrating because the mistakes totally changed the meaning of a sentence. Catherine Crier is such an intelligent, well spoken women that I am certain this happened on Amazon's end when releasing the kindle version.

Laci and Connor Justice
A Deadly Game: The Untold Story of the Scott Peterson Investigation Catherine Crier was undoubtedly eye-opening. I bought this book in the hardback back version when it first came out, but I could not locate it, so I purchased it on Kindle. Once more I was drawn back into the nightmare of the Laci Peterson case. Scott was such a pathological lair who felt justified for all his actions. The real tragedy is for Laci and Connor. I would have entertained more doubts if they hadn't washed up where Scott had been fishing. Catherine Crier's account is derived from reports and hard evidence. A well-written true crime novel. I wish there had been no need to write the book.

Great read, horrible editing
This is a really good, detailed accounting of the case. It goes into the surrounding hours, days and weeks of Laci's disappearance and why Scott quickly became the main suspect. I give it 3 stars because the editors seriously need to go back over this digital copy and clean it up. The errors, misspellings and continuing usage of Laci's name being spelled as LCI is incredibly disrespectful to her memory. Here's an example: On May 4, 2003, thousands of friends and family members packed into the First Baptist Church in Modesto to bid farewell to LCI and Conner. When I pay for a book, paper or digital I expect that it is correct and error free as these are presumed professionals handling the writing. Buy it if you will for the story, but just know the errors are numerous throughout.

The DEFINITIVE book on Laci Peterson case
I’ve always been enthralled by this case. How could a man who had a gorgeous wife, was soon to give birth to their first child a boy named Conner… kill his wife? How could this be? Meticulously researched, and if you’ve ever wanted just more info than documentaries or news provides than this book is what you’re looking for. I wanted more than what I had found out about the case. Having graduated from high school as all this was happening made me never ever forget this story. I’m so sorry Laci and Conner.

An okay read
This book was okay, but I think the author's ego was too evident. Book was about 100 pages too long of repetitive information. It really was too long and her writing style is a little abrasive / annoying . I did read the whole book but it wasn't a page turner. Not a lot of information was new or untold, more like a rehash of the case.

The book is brilliant and very informative
Since I watched the film a few years ago, I have always been really interested in this tragic case. The book is brilliant and very informative. I had also seen a documentary on TV but this book goes more in depth and the film is not as accurate as this read. It leaves no doubt on Scott Petersons guilt and his behaviour proved he is a complete psychopath. The book gave a great insight into step by step stages for the police from Laci disappearing to the findings of her and Connor. Tape recordings of calls/interviews confirmed his guilt and lack of thought to anyone but himself. I love true crime stories, seeing how a seemingly normal person can do such inhuman things and psychologically can trick everyone close to them. This story is exactly that.RIP Laci and Connor xxI ordered a used book but it arrived brand new and very quickly. Would definitely order from seller again

Interessant..

Excellent Book
One negative comment, whoever proofread this book is really not a professional. I cannot believe how many typos this book contained. It should be reworked with someone who knows what they are doing.
