If your not looking for anything fancy when it comes to home security and protection, then this might be a good fit. This ADT system comes with 3 sensors, 1 motion, 1 base station and an ADT sign. ADT has been protecting homes in America for many decades and is considered one of the pioneers of home security and monitoring with a large network across the US. This is a non subscription system that is very easy to install into any small home or apartment without the need to have a wired phone line or professional installation. The sensors are all wireless and communicate to the wireless base station which connects through your homes wifi, and is controlled though the ADT app on your smart phone. If you are looking for a no camera multi sensor system for your small home or apt without too many bells and whistles or monthly costs, this is a solid package to start with. You can always add active monitoring for a small monthly fee down the line or just self manage the system yourself with the APP. Requires a Wifi network, and a smartphone for the app to install on. Installation is trouble free, and works as it should. Get peace of mind protection with a small upfront cost for the system. ADT is a name that you can trust in case you need support later down the line. If you dont need a camera type security system this is a good starting point. App works great and system is compatible with alexa or google assistant.

ADT has finally entered the DIY security space to regain some of their lost market share. The brand is well recognized with a long history and good reputation for its residential security and monitoring services. You can rest assured they know what they are doing when it comes to home security. Blue by ADT competes directly with similar offerings from Simply Safe, Abode, and Ring Alarm, and is priced competitively against those brands/products.This 6-piece bundle is a good start for most homes and may be all you need in some situations. It includes a base station w/integrated siren and keypad, 3 door/window sensors, a motion detector, 4 ADT window stickers and an ADT yard sign. It can cover 3 entry points (front door, back door, and garage entry), plus detect motion. Of course, you can add additional sensor as you see fit. The system also supports flood/temperature sensors, cameras, additional keypads, and range extenders/chimes, but those items are not included and must be purchased separately.Installation is easy enough that anyone comfortable with technology or willing to invest a short time learning, can have this working in no time. All the sensors have batteries pre-installed, and are peel and stick using 3M adhesives for an easy installation.This is one of the few systems (maybe the only system) that offers completely “free” self-monitoring. With the app, you can receive notifications on your smartphone when the alarm is triggered. If you add cameras, you can also view live video and get 24 hours of video storage at no cost. That said, you can add “no-contract” professional monitoring for only $20 per month, and 60 days of cloud video storage for $2.99 per month/per camera, or $12.99 per month for all your cameras. The monitoring service also adds cellular backup.So far, the system has proven reliable (no false alarms), and the app has been intuitive. It's a scalable, comprehensive DIY home security solution that offers free self monitoring with the option for affordable professional monitoring from one of the biggest names in home security.My only complaint is that al-a-carte door and window sensors are difficult to find (at the time of this review, they not available at the BluebyADT.com or Amazon) and the system does not offer fire/smoke/carbon monoxide detection.

I purchased this system with the sole purpose of notifying me when someone opens the door at my store. I own a retail store and provide a service as well that requires me to operate loud equipment in a room that is not in direct sight of the entrance. Ideally, I was looking for door sensors that, when the door opened, would announce through my Google smart speakers that "the front door has been opened". I also wear noise-cancelling headphones that are connected to my phone while I am operating the loud equipment. At the very least, a push notification through my smartphone into my headphones making a unique noise when the sensor is triggered would be fine.After setting up the equipment and playing around with all of the settings, connecting it to my Google Home, testing, changing, testing, uninstalling, reinstalling, testing and finally contacting support, I have a system that is not going to fulfill my needs. I get a push notification once or twice out of 50 sensor triggers. I get an email every time the door opens (which is useless and fills my inbox with pointless emails.) The smart speakers will only announce that the door has been opened if the system is activated in "stay" or "away" mode. This requires that the alarm be armed all day. I don't think it should be necessary to disarm and re-arm the alarm system every time a customer walks through my doors.As for the alarm system itself, it will do what you want it to do if you want to have an "away-from-home" or an "arm while you sleep" system. The alarm is loud and when it is armed it performs 100%. However, if you intend to use this as a door monitor, the notification app needs work.
