Perfect for hanging an EV charging cord overhead and out of the way. My son installed one at his home and I eventually ended up buying two of these, one for my Chevy Bolt EUV and then another one for our Tesla Model Y 240v Wall connector cord. 4 years and going strong!

Used for my ev car charger cord in my garage. BMW X5 hybrid. Works as intended and is heavy duty. Should last for years. In my application I wish it had a ‘stop’ so it would stay out until a little tug was given. Highly recommend because of its sturdiness.

I used this to make a cable retractor for a client. Basically, we connect a sling with wires wrapped up to the balancer. When we pull an AV equipment rack out of the closet, the wires extend. When we push it back, they retract and are pulled up off of the floor so they don't get caught in the wheels of the rack.We may use a lot of these. BUT, I noticed no change when we tried to adjust the tension. The adjustment screw seems to make no difference. We had enough wires/cables to use the full tension without damage, but this will not always be the case.

i have about 9ft of tesla wall connector cable draped across the garage and this is able to retract it up to the ceiling fine with tension to spare. pull/retract action is very smooth. its all metal build is heavy so make sure to use a large gauge like #20 hook screw and make sure its screwed into stud not drywall. you do not want this heavy thing crashing down from the ceiling. i also used zipties and secured to the hook and to the backup loop in the unit just in case. forget the cheap sub $15 units as they are junk like the first one i bought only lasted 5 months before cable detached from the inside. this unit seems like it will last a long time.

Works great for our needs. We have an overhead plug for our electric vehicle. This retractable hanging spring works perfect for keeping the plug/cord elevated out of our way when not being used.

Works great. Make sure you go slow when you retract whatever you attach, especially if the tension is set high. If you let it retract too fast the cable might get off track. Happened to me once but I was able to fix.

Using to hold EV charge cable from center of garage, works really well. Wasn't sure it was going to be strong enough, but I actually lowered the resistance.
