Shinto Japanese Saw Rasp Planer (250mm)

There's a reason so many woodworkers swear by this saw rasp. It is well made and both sides work very well for their intended purpose. The course side removes material very quickly and the smooth side leaves a surprisingly fine finish that depending on what your project is you don't need to touch it with anything else.

This clears out wood really fast and effortlessly. Should have bought so much sooner!

Very disappointed to receive cheaper plastic handle version rather than the wood one pictured on the advertisement. Went back to order page and noticed that it is careful not to describe what the handle is made of. In Australia, this kind of mis-selling selling is illegal. International sellers must think they can get away with it because of the hassle to return items.

The design on this is unique and amazingly effective. This will remove more wood that you intend if you don’t pay attention to what you are doing. I would absolutely buy the Shinto rasp again.
