Fountain Pen Ink, Imperial Purple 80ml

I've been really impressed with this ink after writing with it for about two weeks now. The main purple color is a rich and vibrant medium purple, but then it has beautiful shading and even some golden sheen where it pools or runs thicker. I've used it in a pilot kakuno with a medium nib. I think it would work best with broader nibs like a broad or a stub, but even in finer nibs it has great shading, though you might not put down enough ink with a finer nib to show off the sheen. It dries fairly quickly, about10-15 seconds depending on your paper, but of course wet or oily hands will make it smudge and it will stain, so be careful. Overall, a gorgeous ink that's rapidly become one of my favorite inks to write with as its shading and potential to have a bit of sheen makes writing exciting. I know I'm fairly new to the fountain pen hobby so this ink has been out for quite some time, but for anyone who's new like me and wants an ink that will leave an impression, this is a great candidate to consider!

Purple is a favorite color on this end and this ink is a serious purple. It’s a purple you could use for note taking at school or work without being branded as clownish. It has a bit of that regal air about it that you recognize the instant it begins to flow so well out of the nib. If you’re looking for purple ink, then by all means pull the proverbial trigger on this one.

True to it’s name, this is a true representation of imperial purple reminiscent of Ancient Rome. I love the color and it’s well behaved. It just smells a little weird. Not a deal breaker, but I wish it didn’t have the odd smell.

I tried the Diamine Imperial Purple ink in a new Wing Sung 601 flighter with a fine nib. It is readable, very visible, even with such a thin line of ink, and doesn't bleed or feather, even on cheap notebook paper. It is a "dry" ink, but that makes it convenient for everyday use, but the hue is lovely, making it an elegant pleasure while being a practical choice. In fact, it might bleed and/or feather on cheap paper better than any other fountain pen ink I have. The color is very pleasing, too. It is a very nice purple. All-in-all, a very good ink. As this is my first Diamine ink, I will probably try more in the future, and I imagine I will be getting more of the Imperial Purple in the future to keep as a constant option going forward.

This ink is beautiful and I love writing with it! It goes on quite dark and dries into a vibrant purple. I took a picture and upped the vibrancy a bit to better reflect what it looks like in person, as it didn’t really pick up on camera.

I bought it for Its color (obviously) but I like how it flows compared to other fountain pen inks and how it doesn’t feather like some other inks I’ve used. I also noticed it doesn’t smear as much as other inks so it dries fairly quickly. It’s a pretty chubby bottle so it has a generous amount of ink for a decent price and I will be buying more colors soon.

El color es intenso, y la tinta parece un poco densa, no hace ni un parche, ni salta, no la he probado mucho, pero en un par de hojas A5 no me hizo ni un salto. Seguro que cogeré alguna más de la marca. Me ha encantado.

Beautiful purple ink, a little too wet, with a very nice flow. It really pops on the page. The bottle is glass and there is a lot of ink. It will take me years to finish it.

Inchiostro viola a dir poco meraviglioso, Diamine è sempre una garanzia come marca, si spende un po' ma si ha una qualità incredibile in cambio. Inoltre, durano tantissimo, una boccetta del genere che ho dal 2018 non è ancora arrivata a metà, e lo uso parecchio! Consigliatissimo
