This Tibcon capacitor saved my appliance. My 2007 Samsung refrigerator, 230L double door, stopped working. I called a local technician. He said after checking that relay is bad. He replaced relay and over lead protector (OLP). After that refrigerator started working, but compressor was working severely hot and power consumption was 190W. The refrigerator compressor is rated at 107W. When I asked the technician he replied your fridge compressor is at terminal state. It will go bad within few weeks -months and I will install new compressor for 5500/-. After he left I checked the circuit diagram pasted at the back of the refrigerator and found a run capacitor (cap) is installed. I checked and discovered that the cap is located inside a box where timer is located. I removed it and found that capacitance is 0uF. The value should be 5uF. I called the technician and he installed a 6uF capacitor for 500/-. But a 6uF cap is 20% more value than a 5uF cap. Never install a cap which has 5-10% more value than originally installed. It will kill motor in long run like slow poison (~6 months). So I searched Amazon and found this 5uF Tibcon cap at 209/-. I bought it. Checked the value with multimeter. It showed 5.2uF, which is good. Fixed it by soldering at terminals as the new cap don't have teeth to fit in socket like old cap. Fridge is now running fine and power consumption is now 130W.The technician was about to kill the compressor. I saved it with my knowledge and skill.Caution: Unplug fridge before touching anything near compressor. The capacitor may contain high voltage so discharge it before touching the terminals. Have all tools for repair. Don't blindly trust the technician, check the circuit diagram pasted at back of appliance and learn functioning principal of electrical or mechanical appliance before coming to conclusion.
