does anyone know where these are manufactured, from the box? (thank you)

For products sold in the U.S., the Uniform Packaging and Labeling Regulation (UPLR) requires that "the name and place of business of the manufacturer, packer, or distributor" be included on the product label. That has been the law since 1952. As for where Duracell manufactures its batteries, their U.S. website does not provide that information, and despite several focused searches using several search engines, I was not able to find that information from a reliable source.

No, these batteries are produced regularly. The picture is a very old one probably from 2004/2003. Any of these batteries you purchase now should have a Use By a year or two ahead.
