12/30/18 From the description, I was led to believe I could move the patient (my hubby) using the handles without any assistance from another person. I couldn't figure out "how" on my own, but I did put the "4 handled Patient Aid" under my husband, hoping I would (somehow) be inspired. On a recent visit from a Health-Aid (temporarily) being provided through our insurance, I mentioned how I had purchased the handled pad to help me move my husband toward the head of the bed, so his feet didn't touch the bottom frame of the bed. She indicated (with this handled pad) that was possible, and described how I could do it, without help. I was advised to spread my legs/feet (at the head of the bed), bend forward (planting/adjusting my feet/body over the headboard), then to grab the two top handles and pull slowly...pause...pull slowly and repeat (if necessary) so, as not to hurt myself. I'm 130 lbs., my husband is 5'11" and (now) approximately 165 lbs. Sometimes, he crosses his arms across his chest and I pull by myself...other days, he's able to push, as I pull. This item absolutely works for me. Initially, I was using an additional pad over the top of the handled pad to protect it from being soiled, but that is not necessary because it is constructed of a durable, quilted and washable fabric. I'm sorry that I didn't discover this item on-line sooner because (right now) I prefer the 4 handled Patient Turner and Positioning Aid rather than the bed pads I had originally order for under him. I also found that this item doesn't crease under the patient the way the regular bed pads do. I'm not saying the regular bed pads aren't helpful nor necessary, but my husband has a back injury and the less protective materials he has under him the more comfortable he is in bed. Doing laundry is not a task for me, but not being able to move him to make him more comfortable was a major task and risk factor for both of us. I found this to be a GREAT item and would highly recommend it. Healthcare professionals may not need the handles, but anyone (friend or family member) can help the caregiver or the patient be more comfortable (without hurting themselves) by using this Patient Transfer, Turning, and Repositioning pad with 4 handles. This item was a great find for me and my loved one!

I am able to position my loved one in a queen bed by myself each night using this aid. I have her sit down on it. Next, I swing her legs and body to make them parallel to the edge of the bed, and then pull the aid (with her on it) across the bed. It slides easily across bed sheets. It is easy to remove from under a patient: just roll it up under her (like changing bedsheets with a patient in the bed) and remove from the other side. The border seam finish is not scratchy like the blue pads are these day, but the handles could make marks on the patient's skin. It would be better if the handles were recessed or not protruding . The handles can be turned under, but I would still not leave a patient on this pad. With the help of another person, I also used this aid to get my loved one up from the floor from a fall with no injuries. It took a few minutes instead of her waiting uncomfortably for 20 minutes for EMS folks. I have not had to wash it at this point, but it appears to be some polyester quilted fabric. I'm using it on 140 lb female, 5 feet 2 in or so. I'm not sure if it would be adequate for a tall man. You need to have the torso on it, but it would help to have the legs, as well.

If you have a loved one who is in the bed, this is a lifesaver to ensure that that you can safely move and position the patient. Easy with two people but one person can make minor adjustments. It slides easily and is very sturdy. Tried two other versions and they did not work well compare to this product. Highly recommended it. A side note, our neighbors saw it and purchased one to help move their elderly dog. Hope that no one ever needs one but if you do, this is a great product.

This is an excellent patient positioning pad or “sheet.”It moves smoothly up or down a bed when placed atop a bottom sheet. The handles are great both for positioning and for helping the patient to roll over as well as for use by two people to slightly lift the patient. My 94 year old mother has recently become both bedbound and too weak to move herself. This product helps me to reposition her by myself. Repositioning her is even easier with this product and another person helping me. Worth every cent.

The product is very sturdy, but the stitching on one side was faulty causing it to fray.
