Reliable Heaters with Smart Design Features
I currently use seven of these heaters in various freshwater aquariums (three 50W, two 200W, and two 500W models).Performance & Reliability: While I've only had them for a few months, they've been consistently reliable and accurate in temperature regulation. In one of my tanks, I have two of these heaters, each on a separate external temperature controller (heater set at 80°F with secondary thermostat at 74°F), creating excellent redundancy. This arrangement provides complete fault tolerance - the tank would only overheat if both the heater and its corresponding thermostat failed simultaneously, and would only drop to room temperature if both heating systems failed together. Despite being power-cycled multiple times daily through this setup, the heaters maintain their setpoints and continue to function flawlessly.Design Improvements vs. standard heaters:These should theoretically outlast traditional heaters for two reasons:-They use thermocouples instead of bimetallic strip thermostats, which are less prone to wear-The control logic is located outside the water in a pod on the cord, reducing water exposure to electronicsInstallation Consideration: The only potential issue is that the heater is permanently attached to the temperature controller. This means the thinnest part of the assembly is actually the heater itself. For tanks requiring the power cord to pass through a small opening (like my euro-braced tank which does not use a conventional lid), you'll need an opening large enough for the entire heater assembly to pass through.Additional Features: They include an extra suction cup, which is a thoughtful touch.**General Aquarium Advice:** For any aquarium setup, I strongly recommend using two smaller heaters rather than one large one. This provides limited fault tolerance without introducing the complexity of my external thermostat setup. If a heater sticks on, being lower-wattage, it will take longer to overheat the tank, and if a heater sticks off the other will still provide some heat. I wouldn't trust any brand of heater without at least this level of redundancy.Bottom Line: Highly recommended based on my experience so far. These heaters deliver on the essentials with some smart design improvements over traditional models.

good price, good quality, easy controls...
Like the design of caged heater, controls to regulate temperature high or lower, Works nicely in my 55 gallon tank.. Much better than one temperature heaters, which is mostly all you can find now.. Highly recommend seller and heater.. Does a nice job..

Great heaters! I bought two! ACCURATE!
The media could not be loaded. Instead of one big heater, I bought two 300 watt heaters for my 75 gallon aquarium.I have them both set at 74 degrees. I have verified their accuracy with several different types of thermometers. Our room temp is 65 degrees during the cool / cold months.Between the two heaters it seems that they are hardly working. The green lights mean that they are not actively heating. When they are heating there is a red light instead of green.Running two smaller heaters rather than one big one is good because I have a backup. Plus, neither one is taxed with the job of doing it all by just one heater. So far the heaters are working superbly. Staying right where they should be.I really like the visibility of the controllers. They are easy to operate and set.I also like the fact that the heaters themselves are black. They just blend right in.Also, these heaters have a three prong grounded plug and the cords are heavy gauge.I do not understand why some heaters are made without the ground plug.I am 110% satisfied with these heaters!

My turtle is happy and so am I!
Had it about 6 months now and the temp in my turtle's tank never moves. I like the display and controls. It's simple and easy to use. The suction cups are still holding and the silly creature hasn't pulled it off the glass yet, so it's certainly strong.

Good heater
It's a good heater. A little pricey, but if you are like me and over build things, it's worth it. Good, stable heat. Only took off one star because the thermostat could be more accurate. I've seen other reviews that say the same thing. The actual tank temperature is about 2 degrees higher than what the thermostat is set to.

Very consistent with nice temperature display.
I've had this for a month and it works great. It maintains a better temperature than the fluval brand that I used before. It has a built-in temperature display that is very accurate. The temperature is very consistent. I do have a back-up thermometer, and it also verifies the consistent temperature with no fluctuation. I trust I will know if it quits working because of the display. The fluval had a red light that was on even though it had burnt out and I did not know it had quit working. My tank is 5 gallons with one beta. It is bigger than my last heater but doesn't show on the black backside of my tank.

Works Great
Great heater, easy to set and light to show when temperature is reached and when heater turns on. Looks better then the average heater. Set this bad boy on a 55 gallon and put fresh water to see how fast it would be. So when i put the water it was about 55 degrees and in like 2 hours it reached approximately 75 and keeps the tank at that leave perfectly. Thanks for the great product
