Sketching from the Imagination: Storytelling

Reviewing any art book is always a bit subjective. I feel that a lot of the sketches featured here are more caricatures than characters. Many are Manga, cartoon or comic-style (29 out of the 48 featured artists) , and those styles do not interest me. If you like that type of work, alongside the more realistsic work that is also featured, you'd give this more stars than I have. My only gripe is that the artwork on the cover does not really reflect the whole content. The text is generally informative and interesting and I don't regret buying the book, despite my reservations.

I saw this book while browsing flip through videos on youtube. I am not disappointed at all. I bought it to give me some sort of inspiration. A range of artist are featured in this book with their own tips and interviews.Its a nice book to have.

I didn't know what to expect with this book, I was hoping from the other reviews it would help to stimulate a creative brainwave. The book did not disappoint with a wide variety of approaches in the artists subject matter and techniques. I highly recommend

As someone who collects artbooks, this one is a real gem. It's hard to find the expressive sketches of artists in their artbooks, so finding a whole collection from such a wide variety of artists was great. Quality of the book itself is high and while those who are looking for tutorial types books might not get the sort of in-depth info they'd need, there's a nice amount of text giving a little info on the imagery.

I really adore this series of books. Very inspirational and handy for reference when I am designing or sketching in my spare time. I'd like to see them do even more of these. Another great addition to the collection.

Brought as a present for my niece whom is at college doing her A level art and loves drawing characters and I’ve been reliably informed that this was a great present

Good book

This book is just interviews with the same questions with a bunch of different character artists and illustrators. with a page or 2 each with some of their artwork.
