Moving from a Mac Pro tower to a new MacBook Pro (2018) as my main workstation, I wanted to ensure longevity by investing in this cover to protect my keyboard. I recently read an article about the hard-to-diagnose Apple keyboard issue and the writers (husband and wife team) shared that they feel it's from dust and debris getting lodged and trapped under the super thin keys. If that's the case, then this is a great investment just for that purpose.09/2019 UPDATE: The only downside to this keyboard protector is that it does in fact block the ventilation (through the keyboard) on MacBook Pros. I was doing a lot of video rendering and my laptop was heating up to the point you couldn't touch it. I took the protector off and haven't had the extreme heat issues. I'll keep this for working in a cafe, etc.True story. My wife spilled a shot of tequila on her Mac Book Pro years ago, and the liquid fried the logic board, mainly because the liquid entered the laptop through the keyboard. If she'd had this cover on her keyboard, I know we could have prevented a very expensive logic board replacement by Apple.This cover is so well designed and engineered, that if it wasn't for the slightly frosted appearance you'd forget it was installed. I don't know how they can manufacture this to fit so perfectly, especially on a new MacBook Pro with the super thin keyboard. I've never had the cover come off during use, but if you blow off your screen or keyboard it will usually lift up. I don't use the adhesive provided. It fits so perfectly that with normal use, it simply stays in place.I do a lot of video projects and the past couple of jobs my laptop was pushed pretty hard during rendering. As in watching the battery slowly drain down to zero, even while it was plugged in and the internal fan kicked in and continued to run pretty hard until the rendering was finished. I know there are vents on the underside of the laptop to help cool internal hardware, but wasn't aware that the designed ventilation also included the keyboard. So, that was news to me. Not sure if my particular experience was due to the cover, but for 98% of the work I do, the cover works flawlessly and I'm thankful to add that extra layer of protection from dust, crumbs, liquids and greasy fingers (as diligent as I am about keeping things tidy).With the amount of money I invested in this new laptop, I feel this cover is almost a necessary accessory. Especially if you work near food, and liquids. Very well designed, perfect fit and super thin. Highly recommend!

This is a great product, far superior to other thin keyboard covers. This one stays in place quite well on the keyboard of my MacBook Pro. It protects the keyboard, feels good, fits well, and is basically invisible. Yes, there are cheaper options available, but those will only last a couple weeks before they start to work or slip off the keys. This one is worth it, I would buy again.

An Apple tech told me a little secret about MacBook Pro keyboards from 2017 forward that Apple doesn't want you to know. The short version is the keyboards are crap in a couple important ways: One is that the key mechaisms fail and the other is the type of plastic they use absorbs dirt and oil like no other keyboard I've ever had. For perspective; I have owned so many MacBooks I can't even count them. SO do yourelf a favor and get this excellent keyboard cover. AND not all keyboard covers are created equal. This is a simple product and does exactly what it is supposed to do. This was NOT the situation with the previous one I bought (KECC Keyboard Cover Skin) which actually made the dirt and oil absorbtion worse because the material itself left a residue.This Uppercase Ghost cover is molded to fit the keys and doesn't slip. They provide some adhesive but I haven't found it necessary. It doesn't obscure the backlighting of the keys and IMO it enhances the otherwise cheap crappy feel of the keyboard. Although I'm disappointed in Apple's use of these sh**y keyboards I'm very happy with how this keyboard cover helps make up for it. At least protecting the keys from oil and dirt absorption. Not sure what can be done about the mechanical keyboard issues except as noted below.On a side note Apple has a little known policy in place that they will replace these keyboards for up to four years without having an AppleCare warranty. BUT be aware that according the Apple repair faciility with whom I spoke, the screws for the keyboard are less than adequate and make it very difficult to replace the keyboard more than once or twice and that's assuming the technician uses great care...another reason to use this cover.One last thing: I've only owned this a month so can't speak to the long term durability.

I am very impressed with how well this product was made. Clearly, the manufacturer has put a lot of effort into making this item. However, the one big negative is that, when dirty, it will transfer key-shaped dirt outlines on the screen when the laptop is closed, which will require wiping of the screen. So, it is important to make sure to wash the cover as soon as it gets dirty and to do so regularly. Do that, and this will work out to be a great keyboard cover for your Macbook Pro.Fit - It fits like a glove on my 13" mid-2018 Macbook Pro w/ Touchbar laptop. I mean effortless !Typing ease and feel - To be honest, even though the cover is extremely thin and allows for almost hindrance-free typing, it is still noticeable to me to be slightly hindering. I have now used the cover extensively for a month (12 hours / day), and have noticed that typing is a bit easier without the cover on. Not a huge issue, but noticeable.Ease of maintenance - Washing this cover is a breeze ! Just two minutes to wash with dishwashing detergent and dry it and put it back on. This is great. I wash it roughly once a week, and I use my laptop about 8 - 12 hours / day.To summarize, this is a well made product and a necessary investment for owners of newer Macbook Pros (because the keyboards are known to be sensitive to dust). Make sure to wash it regularly to prevent dirt transferring to the screen when the laptop is closed.I'm a happy customer.
