Another update: So it's been about six months on the new blade and it's still working great. The new design with the smaller teeth is in all ways superior to the old one. I have very few days where the juicer tries to jump off the counter. Update: After using this shredding disk for a number of months I can say it's totally superior to the old design. Because the teeth are finer the produce shreds finer and doesn't cause as many mishaps with unbalanced basket. Time will tell if it lasts as long, but considering the improvement in juicing, I might need to consider this a consumable part and replace it yearly. The shredder teeth on this new blade (on the right) are smaller and sharper than the original OEM blade (on the left). This is fine and they work well. I juice every single day so this blade gets used a LOT. The acme 6001 is one of the best juicers for crunchy items. Any soft produce must be done extremely carefully and really best to be avoided in this machine. I'm worried about how long this new blade will last if(when) this thing is unbalanced and the teeth start to hit the chute. The old blade with deeper teeth has a lot more "tooth" to lose before it won't work properly anymore. I'd like to think they improved the design, hopefully, they didn't just improve the manufacturing cost at the expense of longevity. I suppose it's a moot point since there aren't really any other options for purchase and this is OEM part (even if it's different). The truth is, the old blade with the teeth half knocked down still works the same as this new blade so I'll be saving it as a backup.

Excellent heavy duty grind wheel. Was afraid that it might be thinner than the original but it was exactly the same.
