After vowing to start drinking less alcohol, I redid the top of my bar cart to feature just mocktails and alcohol replacements to make me think twice before reaching for a bottle of wine. I recently added the Leilo kava drinks to the cart and so far, I’m impressed! I’ve never previously used kava, so I was a bit skeptical of the effects and the taste since I heard it was quite awful in traditional preparations. I’ve had two of the flavors so far and they taste great! I don’t get any funky or medicinal flavors, maybe the slightest hint of earthiness, but nothing unpleasant at all! Very fruity and light on the palette without being too sugary or syrupy. As for the relaxation and “buzz”, I feel it is felt more on an empty stomach. After reaching the bottom of a can I do notice my thoughts are no longer racing and my muscles are less tight. I feel much more calm. As for the “buzz” factor, I’ve only tried drinking one can at a time as there is a warning on the back to not consume more than one serving a day. The buzz from 1 can is kind of similar to alcohol, but not nearly as strong. Overall, I enjoy the product and feel like it is helping me drink less alcohol by replacing the nightly cocktail with a great tasting, sparkling drink that relaxes without the hangover. The product is priced higher than alcoholic alternatives when doing a can to can comparison to hard seltzers and many ready to drink cocktails, but the money is well spent if it means I’m making a healthier choice and reducing my alcohol intake.

I'm not sure how I found Leilo Calm in a Can. I guess my Amazon algorithm conjured it up and placed it strategically somewhere where I would be sure to stumble upon it and I did. - Let me tell you, the taste is like nothing else I have experienced, heretofore. The Citric Acid (4th on the list of "other" ingredients) (Filtered water being the first) (Oh! Thank GOD they filter that WATER!!!) is stringent, giving the elixir the taste of, well, a cross between electrified Kool-Aid and (oh so very) vague battery acid. I LOVE IT! But, I'm weird like that. Weird and of strong stomach lining. My cherished other-half, can't handle it. (Hee hee hee. More for me) He's trying to hatch an ulcer, poor lamb. (Is it because he married ... moi?) If you're endeavoring to hatch an ulcer, don't sip this libation. Just wait until you're better. - Anyway ... I bought the variety pack. Chilled the costly cans for a couple of days before trying the stuff. After dinner, I reached into the fridge and picked one at random. (Told you I'm weird.) That first mystery flavor was ... Pina Colada. It wasn't very Pina Colada-y, but, as one strong of stomach lining, and with an adventuresome spirit, I got through it, pretending it tasted MUCH better than it, in (boring, stupid) reality, did. Soon thereafter, I felt pleasantly relaxed and went beddy bye. - And I WHAT???? I SLEPT! (I WHAT??) I S.L.E.P.T.!!! - All night! - I even slept through the ubiquitous night-time presence of our 20-pound cat (Marshmallow) who apparently believes I'm made of eider down and subsequently uses me for a mattress or, at least a lounge pillow, causing my body temperature to rise to a level akin to a three-toed dragon in full menopause. (Three-toed dragon in full menopause? - Why does THAT imagine come to mind?) (I guess I need a therapist) Not ONLY did I sleep through said hugeonic cat using my person as his NEST, I slept through the OTHER (albeit much lighter ) kitty WALKING on my shoulders and head on her way to a better sleep situation. - Yes, this has been going for a LONG time. Why, you ask? Why not? I haven't been able to sleep since before those two felines were glints in their Papa's eyes anyway. I haven't slept since ... I don't know when. UNTIL, discovering Leilo Calm in a Can. - I slept soundly, peacefully AND I dreamt dreams! - Happy, Easter Bunny dreams where I was more popular than my (much) older sister and my teeth were as white as they were when I was 16. - And I awoke in the morning all refreshed ... like a real human being. And guess what? I slept beautifully the next night as well. After a few days, I decided it was again time to reach into the old fridge and randomly grab another can of Leilo. This time, the flavor was Blackberry Orange (which is considerably better tasting than le Pina Colada). And I SLEPT and dreamed dreams AGAIN! A few days later, I reached in and pulled out a can of Sparkling Lemon Ginger. (Repeat story here.) I'm presently on my way to randomly grab yet another can of restful slumber. And am planning on returning to my long lost talent of lucid dreaming. Yes, yes. Soon, I'll be flying to Dubai to find some exquisite *nan-e-nokhodchi before visiting London and whoooshing past Big Ben to say "Hello and Pip pip Cheerio!" on my way to Kauai to night surf. - I can just taste that *divine hint of cardamon, pistachios and rose water now. - All this at only 10 grams of carbs per serving (12 FL) of Leilo - Nighty night, y'all! Sweet dreams. (P.S. When looking up the correct spelling of Kool-Aid, (oh hush!) I discovered there's something known as KOOL-AID PIE!!!!! - Stay turned for next review! Or at least, next dream. Because we ALL know I can't cook!)

For me Leilo Kava is a great alcohol alternative for social settings or even just hanging out in the garage. It is a little pricy, but these days everything is unfortunately. With my last shipment being delayed 9 days I think I will be looking for a new alternative.

Great taste. Ran across this item while on vacation. Was in coffee shop on vacation with 3 hyper kids. Wife wanted coffee. I saw this in a fridge and thought lets give it a try. I didn't have regular kava powder. I was caught by surprise that 30 minutes later I felt the Kava's calming effects. I now keep this stocked as a luxury to have from time to time. I don't drink alcohol. Having been in the kava game for a long time. When you look at the ingredients. This is 1000 mg of kava. Much higher then anything out there. I hope they never change it. I tested the theory again during a stressful day at work. The four out of five stars is based on pricing. It's a bit expensive. If you think of it as having a drink it eases that pain.

While I’m fairly new to the kava scene , I can certainly compare these drinks to some Kavivas I ordered of Amazon last week. First and foremost, these do taste great. The flavor is so good you can barely even tell there is kava in it. Just a slight numbing which tells me the main focus here is taste. I’m a little bummed because it did not provide the same level of buzz as the kaviva drinks did. Unfortunately, I’m here for the buzz hence the 3 star rating. They both advertise 1000mg so I am not 100% sure why they wouldn’t be similar. If you’re looking for taste with a very mild buzz- buy these. If you want something to make you feel totally relaxed and feel the mouth numbness- buy kaviva

these tasted good and if you're looking for kava and don't want to take pills or powder this is a good choice.

I usually drink another different brand of Kava that Amazon doesn’t carry. I ran out and was looking for a quick delivery substitute. I will not be ordering this again. It looks like Koolaid and has a n artificial aftertaste. There is a mild numbing mouthfeel like other Kava drinks but no calming effect. I should have read the reviews more.

Enjoyable seltzer drink. Does not give a "buzz" as other relaxation drinks claim.
