This game is so adictive even when is SO HARD, expect 9 out of 10 defeats, still every one will have fun and its as fun with 2 player as with 6. The more players the longer the game will be and its A LONG game! Do not lose the game pieces! Antartica is the new setting for this expansion and it has its own rules, you will need a BIG table or two tables to play this, ITS HUGE! New rules, new investigators, new ancients, pure fun!!

Overall, this expansion is a great, though pricey, addition to Eldritch Horror. A few initial thoughts: 1. The new characters integrate seamlessly into the game, and are a needed addition. WIth only 12 characters in the base game, there was definitely a need for some additional options. The eight characters in this expansion add some much needed variety. 2. The new Mythos, Location, Expedition, Asset cards, etc. also add more variety. Some of the new cards utilize some new mechanics that will help keep the game fresh. 3. The Antarctica sideboard and new Ancient Ones: overall, I think the Antarctica board is a little bit clunky; I don't think it adds all that much to the game. There are six new Prelude cards that include a specific scenario at the beginning of the game. Out of these, only one calls for the use of the Antarctica board. The only other time you use the Antarctica board is when you use the new Rise of the Elder Things Ancient One. For what it's worth, that specific scenario is a lot of fun to play through (I had been hoping for an Arkham Horror expansion based on At the Mountains of Madness for years), but otherwise it feels a little unnecessary. The new Ancient Ones both have interesting mechanics and were very enjoyable to play with. 4. The new Focus action: there is a new action investigators can take, which allows them to collect a new Focus token. The Focus token functions similarly to the the clue tokens when rolling the dice during tests; you can spend one in order to re-roll a die. I think they are a useful, though unnecessary addition. Overall, if you enjoy Eldritch Horror, this expansion is definitely worth picking up. It adds some great components, and includes a fun addition to the game without making it too cumbersome. If you only have the base set of Eldritch and you're deciding between this expansion and Forsaken Lore, I would suggest picking up Forsaken Lore first; it includes additional Mysteries for the base set Ancient Ones, and fleshes out the Location decks. Since Forsaken Lore adds components specifically for the base set Ancient Ones (thereby augmenting the existing components while adding a few more), I would highly recommend buying it before picking up Mountains of Madness.
