I purchased a British Berkefeld water filter system late last year and recently needed to replace the water filters. I chose the British Berkefeld Doulton Ultra Sterasyl filters as direct replacements as those were the ones the system came with originally. The new filters arrived beautifully packaged and well-protected, showcasing the care taken to ensure the ceramic filters remained intact during transit. Each filter comes in its own box, cushioned with bubble wrap, and includes a silicone washer and screw cap for easy installation. The quality of these filters is exceptional. They are heavy, well-made, and effectively filter out 99.99% of common contaminants, including PFAS, bacteria, chlorine, cysts, microplastics, heavy metals, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals. Although Doulton offers filters designed to remove fluoride, Essex and Suffolk Water do not add fluoride to the water in my area, so I haven't needed those yet. The truth is, you can't trust the quality of our water anymore. With reports of contaminants entering the water system and the poor state of our pipes and water treatment facilities, it's crucial to take matters into your own hands. As someone who drinks about 3-5 litres of water daily, I want to ensure my family's health is not compromised. The taste and quality of the filtered water are incomparable. Our tap water previously had a sweet taste and was sometimes murky. Now, we enjoy crystal clear water without any unpleasant aftertaste. At this price for 2 filters, it's excellent value for money, especially since they only need changing every six months. Plus, you can clean them with a brush or scotch pad to extend their lifespan. Installation is a breeze – just unscrew the old filters from the top container and replace them with the new ones. I have an 8.5L system, and I recommend passing at least 3 containers' worth of water through the filters before drinking, as the initial white powder from the ceramic can make the water slightly milky. I'm very happy with my purchase. Doulton is a reputable and trusted brand, and their British Berkefeld filter systems are exceptional. It's clear why they've been around for 200 years. Expensive! But are necessary to produce the clean fresh water that's so much better than what comes out if your tap Why did you choose this product over others?: If you want the filter quality, you should use the Berkefeld filters

Our water here in East Devon tastes gross (I have no real problems elsewhere - in London for example). These filters totally solve this issue . They also Negate the need to continually purchase bottled water (which I did but hated doing for any number of reasons). Once the initial unit is paid for you're quids in if you're comparing replacement filter costs to bottles.. Additionally there are allsorts of other nasties out there that these filters improve or remove altogether. The 'candles' are extremely easy to fit. So very glad I found this system two years ago that works so well and is sourced from the UK. .

I dont drink bottled water as I worry about plastic seeping into the water so use a berkefeld. These filters clear micro plastics as well as other unwanted things to give me water I feel safe to drink. The water filters through slowly so i have to keep an eye that the bottom tank doesn't get too low.The water tastes nice and I clean the filters after 3 months to recharge. Price wise, they dont work out more expensive than plastic jug filters ( plastic again).

Got these instead of Berkey filters and they seem to work pretty well. They seem to make the water taste better but not as good as the barley’s do.

This is my third purchase. If you can't trust Doulton for ceramics then who can you trust. Brilliant tasting water every time. Would recommend 💯. I've been using water filters since they introduced the Brita. The British Berkefeld is definitely worth every penny. I used it on a campsite in France for 3 months. One of my better purchases.

Effective filter for home, gravity water filter. Reasonable price as it will last a considerable time.

It’s disheartening to see that even well-regarded companies from reputable countries, like England, sometimes engage in misleading advertising by not clearly disclosing product size changes. I recently purchased filters advertised as "Made in England" that were initially double the size of the current version. Unfortunately, the size reduction isn’t mentioned anywhere, leaving customers unaware of the difference. It’s also concerning that there seems to be limited oversight on platforms like Amazon to ensure transparency. This has been quite disappointing. Look at the picture!

Using for my Sertodo Copper water system & they work great. Easy to install & water tastes amazing. When changing out you can really see the discoloration & how well the filter has been working compared to the new white one. Kind of crazy to see, but makes me feel confident my LA water is being filtered properly.
