Excellent kit for kids
Love the kit. My 6 year old really enjoyed making the robots. The instructions booklet is clear and illustrated. The science behind each project is also explained which is a major plus. Each project is individually packaged and labelled with all materials needed, AND THE PACKAGING IS RESEALABLE!!!!!

What a fun way to learn technology and engineering
I love this product. My 2 kids aged 7 and 9 had the best fun building these robots. The instructions were actually in real English and were easy to follow so the kids could build them on their own. In the past we have had DIY robots that were almost impossible for kids to build, never mind children. The booklet had all the explanations and science behind how things worked and the kids were so excited to learn these new concepts that they did a lot of further reading. I can now see why people say that the best way to learn is by having fun. That is exactly what my kids did - had fun and learnt . Couldn't ask for more. Thank you

She loved it but...
If you're giving this as a gift to someone else's child, be aware of a couple things: one - as a previous reviewer very helpfully mentioned - the motor in the bubble blowing bot is wired backwards, so you have to swap the batteries around to get it to blow bubbles. This isn't super obvious when you're testing it (it seems to be blowing, just not a lot), and if I hadn't found that review it would have been a very discouraging blow to a 6y/o who is convinced its not working because she's not smart enough to play with robots (her words). You *really* don't want a kid's first attempt at something like this to be a flop. Two: the text in the instructions is not super specific regarding, say, which hole to screw something into on a pegboard. The pictures are ok, but as theyre the only thing showing you which of 100 tiny identical holes you need to screw each part into, I wish they were higher resolution. The kit came with more than enough screws and a magnetic screwdriver, which is just wonderful cuz I'm a grown adult and I lose tiny screws constantly. I can't imagine a 7y/o doing much better

A creative toy for six year olds!
There were a few things that kept me from giving this product a five star rating. These are all cute! it's a good value for the creativeness! Please make sure you have a cookie sheet tray to assemble these, as the small parts can easily get lost on the floor. The directions of each are fairly clear, but need to be more exact in description, with better photography. I had to disassemble a couple due to improper placement. The placement needs to be exact in order for the battery packs to be mounted easily. An adult needs to be present to assist. But, my 6-year old grandson was able to navigate the small parts and work with them.My six-year old built all four of these in an afternoon and enjoyed them all.The sturdiest one is the rolling fan. He built this one without much assistance. The rolling fan, however, didn't include three pieces of 2-sided tape and didn't have the directions to cut one of them in a vertical half to mount the base. I had to find some other sticky substance to attach the battery pack. The crawling robot: There are a few flaws. The directions were not clearly written. The styra-foam eyeballs do not stay on. A suggestion for designing the eyeball placement is to twist the pipe cleaners together, that way they will not get caught in the front wheels. The rubber rings for the front wheels do not stay on, and they are essential for forward momentum. The battery pack was too large to fit easily. This one has great momentum and was the cutest one, in my opinion! The Scribble-bot: For best use, have a round pizza pan for it to stay in, with a large roll of butcher paper. It must be on a flat surface. This scribble-bot works, well and is really cute in the design. However, the pens didn't make it through the testing phases. Make sure you use washable markers. Any washable marker will work, as the length doesn't matter. The Bubble-bot: The container to hold soapy water is very flimsy and will spill easily without adult supervision (and sometimes with!). A sturdier plastic container (i.e. a butter dish top) will work just as well. This one works amazingly well! If you do this inside, I suggest a dish-towel to catch the liquid, otherwise it gets messy. All of these robots are fun! They are creative, and kept my grandson entertained in creating them and playing with them. I would buy more, as these are great inventions!

Not terribly upset
While my 6 year old grandson loved putting these bots together, I had to start the screw and let him finish it. Directions were not always clear and I had to take it apart many times to get it right. The cable ties for the pens look like they should be going through the holes. The holes are too small to fit them through. He found by switching (flipping) the connections for the wonky crawling bot, it would go backwards or forwards. If you are not careful, the connection breaks. Overall, he did enjoy the bots.

This is a super fun science project for kids!
I like that everything is included in the box so you don't have to go out of your way and look for some tool or glue to finish it (like all science kits on the market, it's so annoying!) Each robot comes in its own individual package with all the parts so there is no confusion of what goes into each set. The instructions are very clear with colored images so kids get it right away! great way to give some educational value to playtime with the kiddos!

So much FUN!
The media could not be loaded. My two children (age 7&9) had excellent hands-on fun as they built with real tools and assembled robots that actually WORK! Instructions are easy to understand and complete. Scribble Bot and Propeller Bot are bopping and blowing all over the house with hours of fun and we are only halfway through the kit. Excellent value for a fun learning and creating day. I would buy this as a gift for any elementary age child.
