Holy cow!! - I don't know how to play the ukulele AT ALL, but this book makes it look like I do!! I play the chords only because I don't know how to read sheet music, but my 12 year old daughter does (self taught from Youtube) and she says this book is "too easy". Instead of the G chord, I play G7 (Google that) instead because it sounds almost exactly the same and it's WAY EASIER for my fingers to transition to it. The CCR songs are the absolute best and most easy to play and sing along to. When I found out that they also make a 4 chord song book and a 5 chord song book, I almost pooped my pants. Best books I've ever purchased in my life. I spend hours pretending I can play the ukulele. "Played it 'til my fingers bled..." LOL The neighbors hate me! My husband is impressed. My kids are learning. So glad I bought this book. Please make more!!!! Review: Nice book of songs - Simple enough. As with any instrument practice, practice, practice. Enjoy!

Why hide additional lyrics? Makes learning difficult
I have some knowledge of music through choir, but I'm new at the ukulele. With this book, I can pick up the ukulele and just make music and have a good time. I'm so glad I bought it. I really like that it gives you the first note so that you can start out on tune. I like that the chord diagrams are printed as needed throughout the music so you always see the diagram when you need to play it. (Some books only print the chord diagrams the at the top of the page.) What I don't like is in some (but not all) of the songs, the second and successive versus are referred to with the phrase "See additional lyrics", and then printed at after the music. When you're new and playing a song that sometimes changes chords every measure or more than once a measure, you don't have time to go looking for the lyrics. The whole idea of this book is to make it easy to make music and have a good time. That's what makes it special. It essentially means I can play all the songs right away that have all the verses printed with the music, but I have to hold off to play some of songs that I really like until after I have a good grasp on how to play the chords and after I have memorized the music and/or lyrics (because I can't look at both places at the same time). That means about half the book is off limits to me right now. Happy about this great find, bummed about its limitations.

Keeping it simple. This makes lesrning ukulele fun.

Easy & fun.
Excellent for teaching beginners and fun for us older guys also. It seems to give you so many songs to play without having the music in front of you which is part of the fun of a ukulele.

Awesome song list. No suggested strumming patterns.
Love the song variety!! Big plus on the whole series ( 3,4 and 5 ) !! My problem is...is that there's no suggested strumming pattern with each tune!??! Is it up to the player? I get that it's a song ( music ) book, so I don't kinda know where to start with this. Unfortunately, I can't read music ( just yet ). I bought the set of books to work on the dexterity of my fretting hand but really wanted to bolster my strumming patterns. Long story short, as of now, the set of books are a 3. Awesome variety of songs, but no suggested strumming patterns. Hmmm....I will work on it, though. Might return.

This is a great songbook
The book is bigger than I expected. I thought it would be a small kinda like a pocketbook of songs but it's a big paperbound book. 8 1/2"x11" at least so its large and easy to read... It's not a chord learning book but rather it has all the songs, all the words and lyrics and all the Ukulele chords. You can see from the screenshot that this could most likely be used as a piano book as well for vocals. If you can play the C,F, and G chords on the Uku then I would recommend this book... Keep in mind however that many of these songs need to be played in other chords as a lot of the music sounds "weird" and off-key.

Exactly what I ordered good quality

We used this briefly in my ukulele classes. Because it is the 3 basic chords we can use it forever. Good selection of songs.

Good and solid book. I'm from the 60's and many songs I don't know. Book is thick and good quality.

Great for beginners like me. I was recommended this series of ukulele books by Hal Leonard and have really enjoyed them. Great selection of enjoyable songs. Makes for a happy practise session every day.
