Q: I bought neiko 02447a 1/2-inch drive shallow impact socket master set and they don't fit on this drill. is there something obvious i'm missing here?

There are two types of methods of retaining the socket to the drive. We used to use a ball detent. On modern impact wrenches the detent ball was mostly discontinued because the socket could fly off causing injury to the user. The drive on your wrench is what is called a hog ring. Your impact driver, if it is the same as the one I have, uses the hog ring containment method. Your 1/2" socket will fit. Simply push it forcibly on to the drive. The hog ring compresses and should engage the internal groves in the socket. Taking the socket off requires levering it off using a flathead screwdriver. I hope this explanation helps

The torque rating is not based on the battery size. The higher amp hour of the battery allows jobs to run more efficiently while the battery is in operation allowing the jobs to go quicker.

DDCF894 Mid-Range Impact Wrench with Detent Pin Anvil. The DCF894HB has a hog ring anvil.

Q: Will my 1.5ah battery 20v battery from my drill work on this?

Yes, that is all the batteries I have. However, they must have a full charge and even then rapidly run out of energy. 1.5 amp hours translates into 1.5 amps available in one hour of use. I run a one man lawn care business. I use this impact driver to loosen and install three commercial mower blades about once every three to four weeks. My batteries are somewhat old and run out of energy in about 45 minutes. Another thought, never leave your battery on the charger after it has charged. Lithium ion batteries store best at an 85% capacity.
