Bought these right at 2 years ago, I quickly replaced the insoles as those were horrible. Once replacing the insoles the boots were extremely comfortable, reliable and held up quite well in a multitude of situations from hurricane relief, landslides, swift water and lake rescues. They grip well and supported the ankle quite well in all of these environments. They also, with the right insoles, kept my feet comfortable being on them 18+ hours a day some shifts. I would recommend getting 1 size larger than your usual. Build quality is there. They’re still in good operational condition today, 2 years later, but I will be switching to redbacks going forward

No steel toe, which is extremely unfortunate for this type of a boot. The specific purpose would be for my son to use them at his EMT job with safety. Was disappointed in that. He states that they are comfortable, but he’s still looking for a pair of steel

When I was looking for boots for my wife in 2016, I stumbled across these boots. Since then, I have ordered three pairs. They have always supported my feet on the job. It’s important as a paramedic to have adequate support, protection, professional looks and lightweight for the 18-36 hour shifts. Never a disappointment. Last pair lasted me 18 months of wearing them 4-5 shifts a week.

First pair lasted me 2 years, the only thing that gave was the tread but that is after countless walking patrols and foot chases on asphalt and concrete. Everything else held well. When it came time for a new pair I went through 3 different brand pairs, Rockys, First Tactical, and Nortiv. I also tried Under Armors previously but they wore out super fast. All were sent back as they didn’t meet my standards. Their is little to no break in period with the 5.11’s comfort wise. Polishable toe and heel. Just great well rounded and durable boots. I will probably get a pair of their insulated ones for the winter months which should give me even longer use out of them, a wise investment. Don’t waste your time trying other brands, just buy these!!

Bought these for work—I often work 16 hour shifts and needed something that would last and not destroy my feet. These run small. I ordered the same size I’ve always ordered in every other boot, and my toes hit the ends just enough to be very annoying. Also, the ankles don’t seem to want to break in AT ALL even after five days of wear, four of which were 16s. Going to give them another week—hopefully the leather stretches a bit around the toes/ball of my foot and the ankles get the hint that they need to bend a little.
