Q: Is the bucket worth the purchase to clean the brushes? and can the thinner be used to clean brushes like turpenoid of just to thin the paint?

I have the bucket and find it easy to use and much less sloppy. The rack inside does help to get paint off the brushes. And the lid helps keep any odor inside and keeps the thinner from drying up so fast. Thinner can be used both to clean brushes and to thin the paint.

Q: Is the liquid for oil paints ?

Yes, it is for oils. You can use them over acrylic but you can't paint acrylic over oil.

Q: Can this be used with water based oils?

I use water soluble oils and yes, they can be used along with regular oil paint. You don't actually use water with the water soluble oil paint - you only use water to clean the brushes, so the water does not come in contact with the paint or on the painting.
