Caterpillar CAT B40 all carriers - Mobile Phone, Black

Bought this phone for my mom to replace her Nokia. She loves it. It's easy to use and comfy to hold. She loves the digger revving sound when you turn it off and on. Has good sound and easy to understand workings. Really nice phone. It is chunky but not too big.

I am a fan of non-smart phones - I don't really bother with social media, have a proper camera already and rarely need any other apps, so the search for the ideal 'dumb' phone started this year and I thought this would be it. On the face of it, it is perfect. It is rugged, has dual sim slots, 4G for better call quality, a memory card slot for mp3s, has decent bluetooth and (at last!) USB-C. It also has some genuinely useful features such as a powerful torch. Sadly a few things let it down and I, reluctantly, returned mine: 1) No T9 auto predicate dictionary for texting - Whilst happy to text using a keypad, no T9 dictionary means this is really, really, slow. 2) Charging and headphone sockets on the side not the top or bottom - This is a problem - especially if you want to use your phone to listen to MP3s. The headphone socket on the side means the headphone's cable sticks out and makes it almost unpocketable. Same when you want to charge it up - not quite as bad, but still awkward. 3) No built in web browser - Whilst I do not need apps and the like on my day to day phone, a super-simple web browser (Opera?) would have meant really simple tasks such as a quick weather check would have been possible. This phone doesn't have that feature which is a shame as it has 4G for fast browsing. If you can get around these issues, this may well be the perfect non-smart phone - a solid 4 stars, therefore.

This was brought for my father who is a farmer. Very durable, easy to use & navigate around. Simple enough for someone who isn’t a fan of technology.

My husband loves this phone as it does everything he needs it to do and is simple to work. However it doesn’t stay connected to his vehicle and despite following instructions to pair, within a short space of time the connection is lost again. We returned the first one as faulty because it also did this. Now think it may be a problem with this model.

I ordered this for my father who is a famer and needed a robust phone. Unfortunately the battery ceased charging after the first couple of weeks rendering it useless. Returned and ordered a replacement however the second phone did the same thing. Wouldn't recommend.

Exactly as pictured & described

Good phone with hidden function. This I don't understand why Opera mini is hidden. That is the most criticism for this phone, but it have it. It can be found in shortcuts not in menu.

Bought as a strictly utilitarian phone, to make phone calls or text only. It was certainly chunky and reminiscent of the mobile I had in the 1990s. Sadly, I found operating it hard work and sending a text message difficult, to the extent I gave up on it. Others may find it easier.

He acabado muy cansado de los smartphones, de la pérdida de privacidad, de lo impersonales que son las apps de mensajería, etc. Llevaba meses buscando un teléfono sencillo para aparcar el iPhone y volver a “lo de antes”: hablar por voz con la gente. Después de haber probado algunos Nokia en los que su calidad de llamada era como estar en una cueva. Vi una review en la que hablaban muy bien de este CAT B40 y de su calidad de llamada. Y, efectivamente, al tener 4G y VOLte es una maravilla lo bien que se escucha. No sólo eso, también es resistente al agua, a golpes, y es anti bacteriano. La batería me ha bajado un 10% en 24 horas, con una sola tarjeta SIM. Así que tiene pinta de aguantar una semana aproximadamente. Si quieres un teléfono para llamar y mandar algún SMS, no lo dudes, este móvil es una pasada. (También tiene una cámara muy simple, radio, MP3 y algún juego sencillo) Con #*8378#1# entraréis en el modo desarrollador con algunas cosas muy interesantes. Como poder poner el % de batería al lado del icono de la misma. P.D: el móvil es bastante grande, pero en mi caso no es problema porque tengo las manos enormes.

Das Handy ist ja mal mega, für alle die vom Smartphone weg wollen, für alle die es in der Arbeit nur zum Telefonieren und SMS schreiben brauchen, auch für Kinder die besser noch keinen Zugang auf soziale Netzwerke (Internet) haben sollten, einfach top. Auch für manche Senioren die mit einem Smartphone überfordert wären mega gut gemacht. Das Gerät ist super verarbeitet, die Lautstärke ist super... Macht einen Robusten Eindruck. Das Menü ist super einfach.. zu bedienen dank der Symbole und Erklärung darüber... Die Tastatur ist ebenfalls schön groß gut zu lesen, die Hintergrundbeleuchtung der Tasten ist ein klarer Pluspunkt. Die Tastatur ist super abgestimmt. Die Taschenlampen Funktion ist hell Selbst mit der relativ niedrig aufgelösten Kamera lassen sich durchaus Bilder machen, wenn man seine Qualitätsansprüche senkt, lässt sich so auf jedenfall was abfotografieren oder ein Schnappschuss machen. Ich kann dass Handy nur wärmstens empfehlen, vergleichbar besseres auf dem Markt dürfte es mit tasten kaum geben. - Kleiner Nachteil ist der Akku, der für die Geräte-größe stärker sein dürfte. - Zweiter kleiner Nachteil, es ist nur ein USB Kabel dabei, den 230V Stecker dazu muss man sich selber kaufen, leider bietet "CAT" zu diesem gerät keine Originalen Stecker und Autoladekabel an, diese muss man sich im Zubehör organisieren. Unser erstes gerät ist leider teifenentladen angekommen weshalb der Akku einen schaden hatte, und verlor über 15% akku in 24h Standby ... dass zweite verliert bei gleicher zeit, mit ebenfalls 7 mal dispaly einschalten in der zeit nur 6% Kann Passieren ist nicht schlimm. Ansonsten klare Kaufempfehlung meinerseits vor allem für die oben genannten bereiche.
