Consistent potency. Fine ground
This is a super fine ground. For some it can be difficult to filter. For me it's absolutely perfect it's almost like micronized kava.

Will not buy again
I ended up buying this because it was on sale, but will not be purchasing it again. It tastes like the pieces that should be filtered out were ground up and since it is such a fine powder, you end up consuming it. Hence why some people have mentioned getting an upset stomach from it. It tastes more bitter than other brands.I prefer the more typical grind of most kava brands. It’s hard to determine the quality when it’s mixed with less desirable parts.

Works but not normal kava
Nice feeling, not anxiety provoking like some other kava strains. Caveat, this is not normal grind or typical in any way. Smells different, tastes different, and is very fine. I am wondering if it is dried kava juice on some sort of other powder. Seller can you chime in to clarify please?

Fine fine kava!
UPDATE 10/19/21: I have been using this stuff for a few months now. I have ordered a second batch of this since I really liked the first batch for my Aluball. Although I still really enjoy the effects, I started getting some stomach issues, especially after a night of traditional prepping this kava. It might be because of the finer grind than other kavas, and I'm ingesting more sedement than usual, but it's quite uncomfortable, and have to take it down 2 stars. I stopped using it and went back to Dua Na Bilo.Like I said, the taste and effects it gives is 5 stars, but the stomach discomfort after some sessions with it take it down 2 stars for a total of 3 stars.ORIGINAL POST: I came across this Kava when my goto kavas were not available on Amazon. I do say, I was hesitant, since there were no reviews on it, but the price was just right. Rest assured this kava is fantastic, the taste and potency is just how I want it. It tastes earthy, but sweet...almost like cocoa. You get a nice body buzz in just 10 minutes, and it lasts for a few hours. Also, it is one of the best kavas I used in an Aluball. Highly recommended!

This has become my favorite kava - I drink it daily
Yes, every day. I asked my doctor, she thinks its OK for me. I had serious depression, anxiety and insomnia. Kava, in particular Fijian waka, made a huge difference in my quality of life. I no longer take any anti depressant, anti anxiety, wakefulness or sleep inducing drugs. I rattled when I walked before from all the pills in my gut. Now I drink some kava and life is good. Bula!As another reviewer pointed out, it is finely ground. No reason to reduce the rating. The bag actually says to prepare it traditionally and that works great with very little waste. I also drink it just stirred into a beverage, but as with any micronized kava I get dry skin problems if I do that too often. It makes a great cup of grog. I use 1/2 cup of root to a gallon of water.I find this much more palatable than some kavas that have a "piney" taste. Those make my eyes and nose run - not fun. I don't get any stomach upset from this and much less gas that some other varieties. This is an excellent all around kava. I drink it every evening and all day on the weekends. Its a moderately strong Fijian waka with balanced heady then heavy effects. I find their kava to be consistent bag after bag, something I can't say for some other suppliers. Kava is expensive, I want to get what I paid for every time.P.S. If you go to the Taki Mai website you can see all the grocery and department store chains that carry it in Fiji. Sure seems like a popular brand there. That's why I tried it in the first place.

Not a fan... Even at $60.00 for 2 lbs
Do you know that old adage that you get what you pay for? Well that really applies to this Kava. I bought this Kava thinking that it would be equal to other mid tier brands like Wakacon with the thought that I wouldn't have to buy any more Kava for a month or so.When I opened the bag, I could immediately tell that this was going to be suspect because it was missing a lot of the aroma of other kavas that I have tried. Like maybe it was stale or something. The grind was extremely fine and the powder generally had the lighter appearance of a Fijian Lawena. But the taste was much worse than many kavas It was almost sour.I make my kava with warm water and coconut milk, using around 4 tablespoons per cup. I could barely feel any effects after drinking 2 cups of the grog. I am going to do an acetone test tomarrow on a tablespoon of the stuff to check and see if it is actually noble. I will also send it in for a basic analysis to figure out if there are large amounts of leaves or stems by checking the chlorophyll in the product. Would not recommend. Save your cash until you can afford a good kava

Don’t buy!!!
The media could not be loaded. This kava has an aftertaste of chocolate and is gritty after staining. It effects compared to waka or kava Tonga is 4/10 and is short lived. I’ve been drinking kava for over 17 years off and on but this taste is off… like they put nesquick and dirt together with a touch of kava. No numbness in the tongue which is a red flag and smells like it’s been sitting for awhile. Can’t support this brand..
