Awesome for the price!
Love then!As long as you treat them righ( OILED/SEASONED ! )They love you for ever.They are not and I repeat ment to use directly out of the box dry n then wash them n store away.This why so many reviews complain about rusting and cracking.My suggestion would be rinse then in warm water put dry then fry so good old chicken or fish in them.Then rinse them pat dry and put back on the stove on low heat n the work them up to a high heat for about 30sec turn off let it cool.Then you will never have an issue with rusting.

Sourdough Dutch oven on a budget
A friend recommended this cast iron Dutch oven after he had bought a much pricier one & said the big name brands aren’t worth the price difference. Not only does the base do the same job at lower price, but the expensive brand doesn’t have a reversible lid the way this model does; the lid can function as a skillet on its own.I’m using this just for a sourdough bread Dutch oven. The recipe & method I use, calls for putting 3 ice cubes in with the loaf as it bakes, for steam to help it rise. My friend said no matter how he tries to take care of his expensive brand Dutch oven, it still rusts from the ice cubes. If that’s the use I’m going for & it’s gonna rust anyway, I’m very happy with this well-priced & sturdy Dutch oven just for sourdough.This was only my 2nd attempt at making sourdough bread, and clearly these are “new baker” loafs, but they’re leaps & bounds better than the ones from my first batch when I didn’t have a Dutch oven & cobbled together something “good enough.”Cook times were exactly per recipe.The size is just right for a round or oval boule standard size bread loaf & probably other shapes I haven’t tried yet as well.Bonus: this included a freebie set of silicone grip pads for the handles. That was unexpected & nice & practical.

Dream come true
In love with this! I have always wanted one but wasn't sure what size to get. I have a family of 6 so we need larger sized items for cooking. This is a perfect size for us. Everything I have made in here has had plenty of room where as before I was struggling to fit everything in or having to try to do batches which was inconvenient. NOT ANYMORE. Very easy to clean. I seasoned after every use to build up a nice protective coat. I recommend if you have never owned a cast iron product to please do your research. If you do not take care of it properly you will get negative results. Very satisfied. Even cooking and everything tastes better (in my opinion I just prefer cast iron to anything else) I like that I can start on a burner and able to move to the oven with certain recipes. I also love that I can use the lid as a smaller skillet. It is inbetween sizes of skillets I have. I like to make skillet bread in this as well perfect size. I can go on and on with all of the benefits. Long review short. Do it. Make the purchase.

Wash, dry and season well.
Beautiful! The quality is amazing for an affordable Dutch Oven. As soon as I received it I washed, dried then started to season both the pot and the top inside and out.I left them both to rest then seasoned again this morning. I will season again one more time. After I am completely satisfied. I will use later on this evening.This should last a lifetime if cared for.

A great product under one condition ….
… that you season it really well beforehand. This is what I did to ensure a stick-free cooking experience:Take a metal scrubbing pad and scrub it with dish soap and water. Try to get the surface as smooth as possible. I had to do this 4 times.Set it over a stove over medium heat to evaporate the water.Set oven to 450 degrees. Wipe the cast iron (inside and out) with a THIN layer of vegetable oil. Set inside of over upside down for 30-45 mins. Let cool. Repeat 2 more times.After all of that you should be good to go.

Great versatile pot
The pot is versatile because there are two parts which can be used separately or together depending on the meal being prepared. Ideal size for most medium size family dishes.

It's perfect. I purchased the 5qt size for a gift to a friend, he loved it!! We also added an extra layer of extra seasoning .. very good quality.

Awesome Dutch oven especially for the price! Great size. I use mine to bake my sourdough bread in. No issues with heat distribution. Great value. Would definitely recommend.
