Great, Inexpensive Cam Bearing Installer
I used this to drive in cam bearings into a Ford 460 Big Block. This style isn't as easy as one of the puller-style installers but costs substantially less. A couple of tips: -Don't overtighten the installer while in the bearing before driving in, as thinner bearings can expand enough to catch the lip of the block's bore -If installing the #1 cam bearing from the front, the cone isn't used to center on another hole. If you can, install the very front bearing from the rear, as the cone can be used on the very rearward hole to center the front bearing. If you have to install the #1 from the front, make sure its centered as best you can because #1 is always the most difficult to align -Do not lube the bore of the block (ie, the outside of the cam bearing) or you will spin the bearing. You can also use a brake cylinder hone to slightly clean up the bores for an easier install of the bearings -I also ground a very slight chamfer in the block bores, to allow the bearing to center and slide in easier -Machine shops are really good options to install cam bearings, but with some patience and attention to detail this tool works very well

Great tool for the price!
This tool works fantastic for bearing removal by itself, and it also works great for bearing installation when used properly. Very good tool to have around if you do a lot of engine work.

Don’t be afraid to install your own bearings
Everybody is so scared of installing their own cam bearings.. I decided to try it myself, I trust me more than a guy in a machine shop. These bearings have to go in a specific direction or your cam won’t fit right.. And most blocks from different manufacturers have different methods of install.. So, I went for it and very happy I did. Burred here and there because of the small learning curve.. But a diamond file prettied them right up. Make sure you use it right with the right size of bearing installer or you'll break the cast expander assembly. Came with an extra set of the rubbers. It’s basically is exactly the same as all the other more expensive installers EXCEPT the expander assembly is made from cast rather than steel. Mine broke, the same as a lot of other people’s in the comments but I was still able to finish the install by simply putting the pieces back together in it rubber housing. Just be careful if you do this because if it isn’t expanded completely around the bearings, it will burr them 😅. And just to be clear, I was using the wrong size and not actually expanding in the beginning.. And I bet most the other folks who broke their tool, were also using it wrong. Either way, just search for a new Expander Assembly. There is a steel one for like $25 on Amazon and these tools are all the same, so it’s pretty much universal for any similar tools from other brands. So, $125 total for me after ordering the addition expander assembly. I recommend just ordering an extra expander assembly with this kit right from the get go.

It worked
Worked great for my LQ4 6.0 ls. My only complaint is there was no way to shorten it for the last couple cam bearings.

Great way to waste $100 + $25 ***BUYER BEWARE***
I will preface this by saying the tool worked fine when i used it to remove my bearings, as a bearing removal tool id give it 3 or so stars, subtracting two stars for the bad machining making it range from pita to almost impossible to remove when you tighten it enough to make a lip for the bearing. However there is no way i would rate this product anything higher than 1 star as a bearing installation tool. It is simply poorly designed and made with the lowest quality of chinesium. Both the inner expander (as most of the other reviews are saying) and the first bearing I attempted to install were completely destroyed. The expanders slipped inside the bearing during install and gutted the bearing, despite tightening the tool as much as possible. Before you consider saving 20-30 bucks with this dumpster fire, remember it will cost you another $25 minimum when you need to buy a second set of bearings, assuming the tool survives the first install attempt.

Works good, easy to use
Obviously this is not a $400-$500 machine shop tool but it gets the job done for the do it yourself, backyard mechanics like me. I would recommend to anyone wanting to use this tool for the first time to practice with your old bearings.
