David Busch's Canon EOS 80D Guide to Digital SLR Photography (The David Busch Camera Guide Series) Review: Have a lot of great photos to show for it - Talk about detailed and authoritative... this guide is packed with what you need to know about your mega-capable 80D. I had owned the original Digital Rebel since it came out. Have a lot of great photos to show for it. but this is an upgrade to a computer with a lens and shutter. Many similar features, but so many added ones. I know, its been a lot of years, so I shouldn't be surprised. I think the Live View mode and remote capability via iPhone is going to be excellent for capturing blue birds and humming birds in flight. I've already got some very detailed shots of wading birds and the increased pixel density is excellent. The guide layout is a bit confusing at first, since there are so many teases and forward references. But in the Kindle version you can just click the link and zoom forward. That literary technique does allow the author to cover the capabilities and controls layer by layer, but if you want to cut straight to the how to, you can. I do want to get a paperback of this guide to keep in the bag. It likely will have lots of sticky notes and tabs that I add to get quickly to the how to pages. In short, I highly recommend this guide, and of course the EOS 80D. Review: Very informative and helpful. - This is an informative and helpful book. I would like to see more content on Radio/wireless flash since that is by far the best way to go with multi-flash setups. I think Mr. Busch probably has a book that covers that topic available but I would have liked seeing it in this book since he “opened the can” on the topic here. A little less hard sell for canon flashes would be nice as there are other brands available for a lot less money that work beautifully on Canon EOS cameras. I was referred to Godox flashes by a PRO and glad I took his advice. This book filled in some gaps that “Canon 80D for dummies” didn’t cover.

A must for beginning Canon photographers.
I bought this book as I began a new hobby of photography and had just purchased a Canon EOS 80D. It comes with a video disc. The book makes a complicated camera very understandable and the disc has amazing and foundational examples and suggestions for new to even expert photographers. I also bought the dummies version for the camera which was a good supplement to this book. If you only want to buy one book, but this one. This helped me to learn my camera much faster than with the manual alone.

Very useful book.
Very useful. I carry this with me in my camera bag as reference. I have had many cameras over many years but the 80D has so many menus and features I need a book like this to learn how to best use all those features. I prefer this to the "80D for Dummies" book I also bought. This book seems better organized so the info I want is easier to find.

The explanation of each function is fantastic! It is like he is sitting there with you!
All I can say is that it is an excellent book! I recently purchased a canon 80D and I was overwhelmed when I actually got my hands on the camera! The instruction manual is so small and can be confusing to say the least. Then I found this book online line and it has been tremendous help. He covers every aspect of the camera with an easy to understand method! I would recommend this book to everyone!

Great book, but need time to soak it all ...
Great book, but need time to soak it all in. Mr. Busch is obviously a camera master. Trying to learn how to use the 80D is overwhelming at first. My suggestion is to go out and use it on automatic mode, and then read a bit use a new mode, and then repeat. Eventually, you can work yourself up to the manual/semi-manual mode. I like this book because you can jump around to learn everything from basic to advance camera techniques an issues. This is not a book you read from cover to cover, but more of a reference manual for what you what to learn right now. It's such a thorough resource, I highly recommend it.

This is a very good read. Quite crisply written
This is a very good read. Quite crisply written, with just enough humor thrown in "496 buttons and dials on the outside of the 80D" as a partial quote, but it made me laugh easily enough. I've learned a lot, even when things get a little droll when they can be, about the guts of white balance, for example, or perhaps focal areas, or things of that nature where some of us tend to go a bit cross-eyed, and skip to the next cool part. There are plenty of those throughout the book, believe me. This was an excellent investment. Get one. Thank you, David!

Great book
This book is excellent. It leads you step by step with pictures . Very easy to understand. The manual for the Canon 80D was written for someone already familiar with digital photography. You do need to understand the basic terms like shutter speed and aperture IOS, etc. From that he leads you easily to an understanding and working knowledge of the camera. Highly recommend.

the book provides a lof of information, but also says when you can skip parts or when the info is going deeper then is necessary to use you camera. I have not gone through the entire book, but on what I have read so far, I certainly can recommend this book.

Best colourful guide book of Canon EOS 80D. It is very helpful for beginners and regular user of Canon EOS 80D. For a good knowledge and operational work of Canon EOS 80D, I Adnan Quaiser Khan, National Gold medalist, recommend to all for taking it.

David Busch is extremely knowledgeable in photography in general, and this model camera in particular. His expertise does not lead him to baffle the reader with science; his explanations are clear, well written and well illustrated. I have been a keen photographer for over 60 years, but there were still several places where he opened my eyes to something new. I recommend this guide very highly.

Veramente ottimo libro. Edward

Well worth it for enthusiasts of any level. I personally don't like watching video tutorials; I prefer being able to leaf back and forth to the bits I want to learn about in a book. A thoroughly worthwhile and easy read without being too simplified, I go back to it again and again as I learn the new features of my camera.
