This may be a little long but well worth it after I read 700 plus question about this item. I get the bad out of the way first. 1) I hope Amazon or this seller will address the shipping complaint with UPS because it sucked. I was surprised to be receiving this bed frame just two days after I ordered it. When I learned it was arriving Wednesday 11:30 am -3:30 pm, I had to pay UPS 8 dollars to lock in a two-hour window of my choice, I chose 11:30 am to 1:30 Pm. I had my brother and other help to come and be here because of its size. At 1:50 pm, UPS told me they had a problem with their truck but no specifics, they delayed delivery until today. At 1:50 pm today, UPS notified me that it would be Friday. I called them yesterday and today because I have been waiting two days, staying at home, tapping my feet and out 8 bucks...After another phone call and a transfer, I found out the package was not deliverable at my address. I inquired as to why and UPS customer support had to reach out to the office that had it to get an answer for me. They told me it was too heavy for the driver to lift. My package had been on that truck since yesterday, the driver just did not want to deliver it. I understand that but they did not have to lie to me. I prearranged help to be here when they sent me notification it was out for delivery... Bad on UPS. I did get the bed frame today but had to jump through hoops, now I have to get the 8 dollars refunded.Now the bed, The bed was set up in about one hour because I was working alone. I could not get the help I had yesterday. I got it all put together ( I purchased two Twin xl bed frames) One of the beds worked right out of the box. The other bed was not working but after trying multiple times to get it programmed, I went to the manufacturer's website and had both beds working and synchronized in no time at all, with one remote. They are now working perfectly.My inside bed frame measurements were 77-1/4" x 80-1/4". The side boards (The biggest worry for me) on my bed are 11-1/2" from the top of the floor to the top of the boards. The two twin XL bed frames fit right in with about a finger width on each side left over.~A little tight, but it fit and the bed platform sits inside, about 1" below the top of the boards with all the leg extensions installed. The length of the bed frames was no problem for my bed frame. I have about an inch of clearance at the foot of my bed and about 1/2" at the headboard. The twin XL's should fit inside a bed frame that is 76-1/2", There is wiggle room but I would not go any smaller and if you're using twin XL beds, you want to use them paired because they will rub on each other if you do not. I have a 12" Serta, Sleep to go mattress so my bed height is 26". That is perfect if you are 6 ft. tall or taller, it will put your feet flat on the ground, sitting on the bed with a foam mattress. Now for the sounds: The motors are 5 STAR, very quiet ride! I love this feature. I have Meniers' Disease and Semi-Circular Canal Dehiscence, Sound and vibrations are the two things I cannot handle. As far as the vibration feature, I am sorry, but cannot give a fair review because of the illness I have, I cannot use that function. I only know that it works and it vibrates and there are one at the foot and one behind the shoulder on each bed. The head and foot both raise. A lot of people keep asking how high does the head raise. Well, for me, high enough to make you very uncomfortable if you like sitting like that and with the foot raised, you may feel like you are going to be folded and squeezed. I'd also like to add that the reason I purchased the Twin XL's is that they were 1) Cheaper than the single king platform. 2)I wanted the option of having a split king in the future. 3) I can take them down and move them around with no problems. I was worried about getting the King up 15 steps, then into the master bedroom. The Twin XL's sole this problem. Bottom line: This is at a great price compared to other similar models. I live on a budget and these platforms fit my needs!

We have provided separate comments on the mattress we purchased from Amazon. We monitored the pricing on this unit and the mattresses we purchased to go with the platforms that we are commenting on here. I tracked the various offers for platforms offered by Amazon for several months until saw what appeared to be the lowest pricing we had seen anywhere for this type of product that included all the features we wanted including a three level massage feature for both the head and foot area of the platform. This was the only item included with the unit that seemed to have a significant number of negative comments about it. So when I purchased two units it was the first thing I checked after getting the platform together and putting the mattress on it. First of all our units had three levels of intensity for each of the ends of the bed that can be adjusted separately or jointly depending on your preferences. After reading the negative comments on this item I wondered if the people commenting realized that the unit had the three intensities to choose from. In any event I have found these choices to be quite adequate and appropriate for this type of massage feature. The only problem I have had with it is that while it is very quiet for this type of operation the noise is still to disturbing for my wife for me to use while she is trying to sleep. Never the less we have worked out a compromise that works for the both of us and I find it a real plus for helping with my back pain.The other significant comment were the problems reported in several reviews concerning putting it together. Based on those reviews we were prepared to seek assistance if putting them together became to big a task for my wife and I to take on. When the first unit arrived we decided to give it a try ourselves. Using a dolly made moving the box around the house quite easy. We placed the box in the bedroom where it would be used and opened the box easily. Removing the two pieces took both of us to lift out of the box and place on the floor. We read the somewhat limited instructions and after reading them carefully a couple of times decided that the effort was minmal and that we could handle it. The assembly consisted of attaching the six steel legs, slipping the two drive motors into place and plugging in four well marked cables to a common control and power box and putting two batteries into the remote. The first time around took about twenty minutes including rereading the instructions a couple of times as we worked to avoid making any mistakes. When it was completed we both got at an end of the unit and easily flipped it over and set it in to place. It worked perfectly the first time an every time sense then . We will report again in about six months about how they are holding up to regular use but so far so good. The second unit we put together in a little over ten minutes from beginning to end and it to has worked perfectly to date.We were impressed with the ease that the unit went together with a well thought out plan by the manufacture and providing a unit that can be put together by just about anyone at any skill level. It definitely helps hugely to have two people involved particularly for the lifting and placement fo the bed in the right place. So far the performance of the unit and construction quality place it on par with the industry standard for bed platforms priced even on Amazon at much higher prices. We felt the pricing we paid for each unit at under $500 each was a real bargain for this product and when added it to the deeply discounted mattresses we purchased with it gave us a real bargain in getting what in our view is a fully competitive split king bed that we both enjoy at a price of half what we have seen anywhere else for a quality product. We have been a sleep number bed owner for about eight years and tried several times to try to get one of their comparable products but the best we were ever able to get a quote was $4000 plus for a split king. Thanks Amazon for providing a competitive product at a fair and reasonable price. We will provide follow up from time to time as we evaluate how it performs over time.
