Oneida Chateau Fine Flatware Set, 18/8 Stainless, Set of 4 Salad Forks

I bought these forks because the shape reminds me of the fork my mother used to make peanut butter cookies. For this purpose they are perfect, and they are also very nice forks.

We have this old set for 40 plus yrs now- some how sone are lost. These are nice!

Bought these for my 2 year old grandson and he was dying to use them but they are a little big. I still have the ones I bought for his dad and they are much smaller which is a perfect size for him now. He does still use them but in a year or so they will be easier for him to handle.

Very pretty, detailed and dainty. When it is time for her start using actual grownup flatware she will have her own thst is not be large!

I purchased this set for my grandchild to use when eating meals at my house. The utensils are still a bit too large for a 20-month old to handle by herself, but I'm confident she will grow into the set just fine by the time she is two years old.

The interior sides of the tines are NOT polished, and this is a serious shortcoming. Food particles can and will collect in the ridges of rough surfaces and this can lead to the growth of bacteria which can in turn lead to illness. Having a set of Oneida flatware that my mother had back in the seventies, if not before, I'd misplaced some pieces. At first glance, the replacements look like the originals. But the interior edges of the tines of the older forks are polished whereas the replacement forks are much, rougher, relatively speaking. The tines of the replacements are not as rough as those of some cheap forks that I bought at Kroger but.... I also bought some of the short-stemmed teaspoons and they are fine except that they don't even come close to nesting in the older spoons as the angle of the stem to the spoon is much different. Oh yes, they are made in Vietnam! During my childhood, Ford's Rouge plant was the crown jewel of industry. Around 2008 Chrysler and GM bankrupted and Ford closed about half of its U.S. assembly plants. I will keep the Onieda forks and spoons but only because such has become the new normal, here in Marxist America....
