Hitch Mount Vise Plate/Holder Tool Stand, Pickup or Off Road (Adjustable)

Decent vise stand with a nice coating. Came shipped in a patchwork box, surrounded by bubble-wrap and no visible chips or dings (not that in our line of work, I would care). It works for our use with a pipe chain vise - see photo's. It's lightweight (compared to the 100 lb monster my dad built ~30 years ago) so it can be installed and removed with ease as well as being sturdy enough for the job. The top plate was a little thin (maybe just under 3/16" counting the coating) for our work, though most of the flexing happens with the truck suspension and hitch slop. We had to drill out an additional hole to make our old vise fit. The various points that slide & get pinned could use a set screw /bolt or wedge to help reduce some of the slop that is inherent with hitch receivers. Other than that, a solid vise mount that saves backs and knees(and knuckles!) from working on the ground (at least for the smaller pipes). It was a little pricier than some alternatives, but they lacked the height we wanted. I want to rate the product at about 4.5 stars but since its not an option, I'm rounding up.

The base does not come with predrilled holes and was to small for any of my vices. It's made for a smaller than average vice. I had to weld a plate to make the base larger.

This is just an awesome way to carry and use a vise to any job anywhere! Seems sturdy, powder coating appears to be nice. Used it to hold a hydraulic cylinder why I eplaced and repacked the seals.2 issues for me1. The vise top plate only has 1 hole, not the 3 or 4 shown in the sellers images. The gripe is that drilling the plate ruins the powder coat and painting those holes really won't stop rusting just slow it down.2. Biggest complaint is that my factor 2" receiver on 15' GMC Sierra will not allow the 2nd vise arm hole to fit in the up position (for travel).Overall wish I'd gotten this years ago, Going to make jobs way easier and saves time for sure. You can use the tailgate as work bench and place tools, parts right at arms length.

Thought I'd mention this vise can be used two ways. One way is with the tailgate down and vise roughly even with tailgate and second way if you switch which end of the hitch mounted vise stand goes in the receiver is with the tailgate up and at a chest high position.Hitch mounted vise stand is well made and has a nice powder coated finish.I had to drill two holes to attach my vise but I don't think that is unreasonable.I do not drive my truck with the hitch mounted vise stand attached. I am a homeowner and not using it professionally.I am very happy with this useful hitch mounted vise stand.

Seemed like a good idea but when I put it in the hitch mount I couldn't lock it in because the hole was miss drilled. I returned it.

I was needing a mobile set up for knife making since im in college and dont have a garage. This thing was better than i expected and is pretty solid. I can have my tailgate down on my 2009 sierra with this in the hitch without any issues. The only issue is a little wobbling but thats due to play in the hitch area. A simple shim of some sort works great.

The hitch arrived quickly and we were able to weld on a new mounting plate for our specialized vice. The hitch mount places the vice level with the tailgate for a convenient workspace. My field tech loves it and is very satisfied with the final result
