Unsung Hero's in a classified mission, CBI Theatre conflict to bail out China in WWII
Great story about a classified campaign that many people do not know about it unless you are a descendant of one of the soldier's who fought in it. Definitely unsung hero's who were finally decorated for their service in this CBI war years later when it became unclassified.

Limited and brief
The authors provide a strongly worded critique of the political dissensions that led to failure in Burma, but I was disappointed in this short, undergraduate essay. The authors complain that the campaign is forgotten, however they added no new research. The one finding in this book that pleased me was access to some Chinese sources. The existence of those sources, however, indicates that this is not a forgotten campaign in China. If we are to find out more about the campaign, we need more access to Chinese scholarship.

Short but sweet...
Provides an informative summary of the action. Presently reading Churchill's memoirs about this theatre and this was hardly mentioned. Only about 45 pages long and mostly highlights the chaos of the desperate campaign to salvage something from the Japanese onslaught. The Chinese popularly don't seem to feature as players which needs to be corrected ( yes I know, Manchuria.....)

Revisionist claptrap
A pretty superficial account deflecting the dismally stupid decisions made by the KMT while participating in the early Burma campaign onto the British, who as we know jolly well know how to retreat ;-)
