One Piece volume 60 contains chapters 585 to 594. It is rated T for teen (13+) due to fantasy violence and tobacco usage. If you are new to One Piece, start from volume 1. Continuing from the previous volume with the flashbacks from Luffy and Ace's childhood together. I couldn't help but cry. Flashbacks to the character's childhoods in One Piece are always really emotional, not one of the straw hats seem to have had a nice past. It makes me want to support them even more in their future! In the second part of the volume, we come back to the present and see what is happening now that the war is over. And then, the moment we have all been waiting for. We get to see what the rest of the crew have been up to while Luffy was trying to save his brother! It's great to have a little bit of comedy after all of that! That doesn't last too long though as the news makes it's way around the world. There is a bonus interview at the end of the volume with Robin's Japanese voice actress, Yuriko Yamaguchi! As always, the translations and paper quality could be improved but the content makes up for that. 60 volumes in and it doesn't look like it will be slowing down any time soon!

A half of this volume is Luffy’s past story, continuing on from the previous one. The story includes a lot of dark stuff like aristocrat, trash mountain called Gray Terminal and such, but I think those are really necessary part for ONE PIECE because this comics, ONE PIECE literally can be understood as a single world(as you can read one in ONE PIECE)collected from necessary and unnecessary things(pieces) in a sense. You can also clearly get Luffy and Ace’s character. Especially, Ace finds some of his personal meanings in taking care of Luffy though he’d worried about it. Luffy’s suffered from a serious mental problem after the paramount war, but Jimbei took good care of him. Luffy has straight-minded toward every goals he faces, so he understands Ace died (not make any excuse) because he’s just weak and realizes he has to gain much more power or he’d lose someone significant around him again. And I think this is one of the reasons ONE PIECE has been loved by lots of Japanese, because I think our society has sometimes a complicated part like a tightly knotted rope. Anyway, this volume shows us the starting point of ONE PIECE. I also like the scene each one of the Straw Hat pirates shares Luffy’s feeling and realize he needs help. I think there is Odacchi’s stick to the order that Ussop gets earlier than any of other crews what happened to Luffy and what Luffy feels now(Usopp is the closest one to Luffy).
