Yes you can, but if you don't want to put holes in the bed of your truck, you can use the Pit-Stop (PS-1500) which is the same thing but without the Trailer Adaptor Kit and just make sure you use 4 straps, 2 on each side.

Q: How wide of a front tire will it except?

It will work for a 14″ to 22″ rim and the width of 80mm to 230mm
