Clearing up the confusion among all the reviews out there
I wanted to write this review, because when shopping for this product, half the reviews seemed to indicate the product was good but ‘deficient’ in some capacity or another. Lots of reviews claimed the charging worked fine with the case on, lots of reviews claimed the charging was not so fine. I decided to purchase the product myself and here is my take. First of all, the quality is great. Not sure what people are complaining about, but in the hand this case makes the Apple Pencil feel extremely solid and much, much grippier. It also improves the look of the pencil dramatically. On top of all that, it is a great shock absorber in the event of accidents. I’ve probably knocked over my Apple Pencil 3 or 4 times since buying this case, and while the pencil used to land with an ear piercing thud and a sense of dread that the internals might be broken, these days a spill is no big deal, as the case basically cocoons your pencil in absolute safety. The addition to the looks, the feel, and the safety make this purchase a no brainer in my opinion. As to the charging and the magnetic hold, I’ve had no issues with either. The magnetic hold on my iPad Pro 12” is as strong as ever, and once clipped on, this pencil is going nowhere. Secondly, it charges just fine. I think a lot of people might be slipping the case on incorrectly, or misaligning it, but if you take about 7 seconds to read the instructions and put this case on properly, there are 0 issues. Got it? 0 issues. Don’t listen to the 0 star reviews of people who can’t be bothered to read instructions and then spread incorrect information. Here’s the only true gripe: As people have correctly stated, it is hard to get the case on the first time. The fit is very snug, so getting the entire pencil in takes some finesse, care, and a bit of elbow grease. However, that is just the first time. After that, once the plastic has had time to properly mold to the pencil, subsequent removals and insertions are much easier. However, I’ve only ever removed the pencil one or two times since buying this case, because honestly once you have the case, why would you ever go back to having a naked, boring, slippery, unprotected Apple Pencil? Just stop obsessing over the reviews, and if you like the look of the case, buy it! And no I don’t work for the company, LOL.

Mixed Experience
Edit: After finding the instructions and reading them like the seller said, I was able to properly install and use my Elago pencil case, which pairs, charges and magnetically connects very well. My bad for not reading the instructions like the description says! This Elago Pencil Case is a decent option for protecting your Apple Pencil. It has a classic design and the compatibility with magnetic charging and double tap features are commendable. However, the thickness of the case presents an issue as it interferes with charging. Despite multiple attempts, I've struggled to get it to charge properly. On a positive note, it still magnetically connects, ensuring that your Apple Pencil stays securely attached.

Almost perfect
Overall I love the appearance of the case. It looks just like advertised, and I have had no problems with charging my Apple Pencil with the case on. The only complaint I have and I’m not sure if it’s like this for every case, but the seams on the case itself seem rather sharp, making it very uncomfortable to hold. I would rate this a complete 5 stars if the seams were not so sharp feeling. It does not charge with my ESR case on my iPad but will charge without my iPad case!

Cute but impractical
It’s cute and it does in fact still magnetize to the iPad with it on. However, I gave it 3 stars because even though it magnetized to my iPad, it didn’t charge it. It’s inconvenient having to take it off to recharge the pencil and it’s not the easiest or quickest to put the cover back on.

Very cute (and functional!) pencil cover
Hoping to chime in and help clear up some confusion people seem to have in the reviews. First, please be sure to read the instructions. It takes two seconds and will save you a ton of hassle and complaints to just read the instructions and install this cover correctly in the first place. Second, the lil hole in the cover? That is NOT the magnetic side. I think that’s what’s causing a lot of confusion for folks. In my first photo, the one without the pencil showing through, that is the magnetic side. It’s clearly marked on the pencil cover, but if you skip over the directions, you might be tempted to assume that the open part is the magnetic side. It is not! Just get that alignment in place, and you’ll be good. Some have said that this cover is impossible to put on because of a snug fit. Honestly, I didn’t struggle at all to put it on. It fit my pencil like a glove, and it charges just fine when my iPad is out of its case. The cover makes the pencil so much easier to grip, too. Loving this cover so far.

Putting it on the Apple Pencil pro is hard, not as easy as in the video.
I got the Elate classic pencil case for my son who is a rising college freshmen. It's cute, nice selection of colors and has a good grip. We got him a iPad Air 6 with Apple pencil pro to take notes in college. This beats to carry paper note books around college and having to buy more. So, here it goes...the Apple pencil pro is the same size as the Apple pencil gen 2, but I still STRUGGLED to put it on the apple pencil pro. The video on the products is not a good representation of putting this pencil case on a Apple pencil pro. So i finally got it on... My son has the thin ESR cover for iPad air 6 (2024) holder his iPad Air 6th. It's a slim trifold case. The Apple Pencil was able to attach and charge with the pencil case on the cover, but because of the thickness the pencil case gave the apple pencil pro, I could not folder over with the Apple Pencil in it. The whole point was to keep the apple pencil security while its traveling their backpacks, so your student does not lose it. With this apple pencil case, you will not be able to keep the pencil with the ipad while charging. Think of it this way, will your student remember to charge it overnight before attending class??? If not, this is not a good product/options for your child/student. I want to return this item but it's sooo hard to take it off of his apple pencil pro without destroying it. I should have read reviews of the "fit" situtation a lot carful. I hope this helps others looking at this product.

At first the magnetic charging didn't work but that was because I installed it the wrong way. (Look for the word saying magnetic on the sleeve, that's where the magnetic part of your pencil should go). Do note that my iPad case does not cover the magnetic side of it. The shape takes a while to get used to but eventually I did grow to like the thickened circumference of it. I didn't buy this for a long time because I didn't know if it was worth spending $17 on an sleeve rather than a cheaper $3 one on Aliexpress, but given the thickness and quality, as well as the tight fit which I struggled with from the Aliexpress ones, I think it's worth a try.

Unfortunately, wireless charging doesn’t work and hard to get the silicone off the Apple Pencil so it’ll be very inconvenient to take it off every time I need to charge it 🥲🥲 Other than that, it’s very comfortable and perfect size for taking notes and drawing. Design is also aesthetic and sleek.

I don’t pride myself in having much strength, but I had to get my dad to help me put it on. I was too excited at the beginning and put it on in the wrong side, so he had to take it off for me. In this way I do think that’s a good thing as it isn’t going to fall off or anything like that. The product is cute and I love it! It came with a little of dust on it and the box was slightly dented, but I couldn’t care less. I recommend this product!
