Perfect platform feeder for birds. I get a lot of finches and other small birds to these feeders. No squirrels. I bought four of them.

Got this birdfeeder tray for my mother for Christmas and she loves that she can see the birds without the feeder in the way.

UPDATE! My replacement came the next day. It was perfect. I'm going to keep the broken one, McGuiver it and use it. I can rig another way to hang it, and then put a water dish in it for hummers to splash around in. ORIGINAL REVIEW July 20, 2023: Looks well-made, sturdy and exactly what I was looking for. Heavy chains, with solid clips to attach to loops on the frame. It should work perfectly - if I can get an unbroken one, that is. However, mine came with one of the loops broken off. Loops poked holes in the box, which was also in bad shape. The package itself was in a bigger box with a ream of 24 lb paper, with no cushioning or bubble wrap to keep the feeder protected from damage. Should have had some kind of packing material that would keep it from being crushed by the ream of paper. I suspect that the packer didn't bother to add protection within the larger box. The feeder box should have been marked fragile or breakable, by manufacturer, I think. Ordered a return and replacement. I got my order in two days, and hope the replacement is done in the same timeframe.

This is a STEAL! I specifically bought this for my Blue Jays. The old average bird feeder I have is too small for them and I wanted something they could easily eat from. I put it out and on that same day, I had multiple birds eat from it, including 4 finches (all at the same time), cardinals, a wood pecker and the Blue Jays! I love the simple look of this feeder! Because it is a black metal mesh, when it rains, the water runs right through. As long as you only put a thin layer of seeds out at a time, the seeds do not get moldy or start growing. I’ve now had it out continuously for three weeks. The feeder tray is doing great. The chain the tray is hanging from does have small rust spots, but that does not affect its functionality. I have the feeder hanging from a garden hook, and as you can tell from the video, birds will launch themselves from the feeder. The feeder hook is sturdy enough to withstand all the movement and has yet to fall down or dump any bird seed.

Turn this feeder upside down and the excess seed allows Dove and Squirrels to feed on ground. Feeder is ready for new seed or suet cake. All birds and the squirrels eat here! Because it is a basket, your view is excellent.

Simple as I expected and easy to put together

It started out good, but 3 months in… the chains are already completely rusted orange. One chain has also snapped. So it’s hanging by three chains now instead of four. If you purchase it, make sure it’s protected from the elements.

Very sturdy. No rusting. I feed squirrels and birds. Love these. I have four of them...so far.

Not fancy but works well.

We bought this little bird feeder primarily for peanuts for our cardinals, chipping and white throat sparrows. This purchase was after a constant contest between our two resident squirrels that insisted they should be part of the peanut party. We did need to add a large squirrel baffle of top of the chains and now the feeder is strictly a bird only feeder. It is a perfect size and the edge is not too deep as to make it difficult for small birds to perch on. The cardinals have no issues at all. Our nesting pair brought their three offspring to the buffet and all were able to eat comfortably. On their behalf, it is a 5 star rating (zero for the squirrels).
