Excellent kit, a little overpriced.
Having used some cheap guitar tools in the past (including the various items sold as guitar tools, but actually designed for other uses - such a feeler gauges (typically smothered in oil) and pipe cleaners repurposed as nut files, I thought it was time to get some better quality items. I particularly wanted to get something to measure correct nut height so considered buying just the nut gauge alone, but I was also attracted to the overall system and process covered by this kit. While I already owned a set of feeler gauges, this is a simpler set, with just a few thicknesses tailored to set your action for electric, bass or acoustic, so it's much less fiddly to use. Similarly the nut height gauge only gives you the thicknesses you need. The measuring ruler is very nicely made, it has no rough edges and the contrast of white writing on black is much easier to read. It also has various lengths of edge that you can use as a fret rocker to check for high frets. The radius gauges are good quality although personally I find understring ones easier to use. The instruction booklet takes you through the setup process step by step and is easy to follow. I didn't find the pick/plectrum-shaped capo particularly effective, as it didn't fully push the low E string down onto the fret, so that was better done by hand or with a real capo. It's worth bearing in mind that this is purely as set of measuring tools. If they tell you that you need to amend something, you'd still need other tools to fix the issue. Your guitar will likely have come with tools for adjusting the truss rod, bridge height/radius and intonation, but if your nut height is too high (or low) or you have uneven frets then you'll need other tools to sort those. In my case, as I expected before measurement, the nut of my guitar was way too high, so I had also purchased some proper (Music Nomad again) nut files and was able to get the string heights at the nut down to a proper height. But as a kit for checking your setup and telling you what could be improved it's very straightforward and good quality. As with all Music Nomad items it's probably a bit overpriced, but it is reassuring to know you're using quality tools and an effective process on your prized guitar!

Expensive but great
I'll start with the TLDR Everything in this kit will help you do consistent setups. It's so well thought out and all creates the ultimate setup kit in a box. Could you get together a similar set cheaper? Almost definitely. BUT it's the little things that make a difference - high contrast action gauge helps my old eyes, feeler gauges having their intended use etched onto them - this is quality stuff. If you've never done setups before, this plus the free videos on their YouTube channel will get your instrument playing so much better. If, like me you do lots of setups for other people- all the little quality of life things really make a difference and for that reason I think it's worth it. Also the box is big enough to hold more stuff so I have things like truss rod wrenches in there with it - handy and compact :)

Not cheap but simple to use and all the better for it
After many years of playing guitar badly, I’ve decided I need to learn how to set up and adjust my guitars, without paying someone to do it each time. I decided to invest in some equipment to make this easier. I had a look at some of the cheaper, all inclusive kits, but decided to splash out a bit. Partly because this came with instructions. It arrived she day after I ordered and when I opened it, all the parts were fit in a nice case. First thing I did was measures my guitar’s string height. It mad much too high, as I’d expected. I followed the instructions to check the neck relief, and found it needed adjusting. Using the tools in this kit and a second Music Nomad kit I bought, together with the truss rod adjuster that came with the guitar, a few Minutes later, the neck was straight and the string height was pretty much perfect. Although it wasn’t cheap it has just the tools I needed, with no unnecessary extras. Everything was easy to use, with idiots guides for everything. The quality of the kit makes me think it will outlast me. I can thoroughly recommend this

Me vs. The Truss Rod - I Won
For years, the truss rod on my ’82 Tele has stared back at me like a dragon guarding its treasure. I’d change strings, tweak the bridge, maybe give the fretboard a wipe… but that rod? Untouchable. Then this setup kit landed, complete with a surprisingly clear book. Step by step, it held my hand through the once-forbidden world of neck relief and action. No drama, no broken guitars – just me, some tools, and a Tele that now plays smoother than a blues solo at closing time. Don't bother with the 'pick capo' provided. It doesn't work. If you’ve ever been too scared to tweak the rod (we’ve all been there), this kit might just be your Excalibur. Highly recommend, great value for money and easy to use. I also purchased the beck stand. Brilliant!
