I was surprised how well constructed it is. Material is thick. Glad I purchased it. Would definitely suggest buying it.

The knock outs were not easy to get out but overall quality was good

FIRST this appears to be one of MANY sold under different folk on Amazon and appear to be all pretty much the same. This one used a UCHEN RECEPTACLE (as marked in the photo) which is also shown on numerous other listing. The connections to the receptacle are VERY BAD and NOT as shown in several pictures.Second, the box is built pretty well with heavy sheet metal. The box design is pretty good except there is no knockout on the back so if you wall mount, you will have to figure out how to get a 1.06 hole in it (diameter fits clamp). Because the sheet metal is thicker, standard punches and step drills have a real problem!Here's the VERY BAD part: The box is supposed to accommodate #4-#8 gauge wire HOWEVER The clamp terminal will NOT accommodate solid wire at all! The screw for the clamp design sits dead center of the hole so you have to separate up the strands to go around each side of the screw!! This is NOT NORMAL and although may fit USA Code, does NOT meet the intent!!! Typically you would twist the Stranded wire before you clamp it which makes it a stronger connection and becomes a QUALITY electrically conductive connection - this DEFEATS all that! In fact having the strands straight causes clamping issues in ANY Electrical Connection. This was compounded in my case of a 7 (SEVEN) strand wire which did NOT have the same size 'bundle' making the connection ONLY clamp the 4 wire bundle and leave the 3 wire bundle FREE - very, VERY BAD!!!!!! The answer becomes literally stupid as you have to twist the 3 wire bundle and leave the 4 bundle straight which makes it an even clamp. BTW the clamp mechanism does NOT float (like most today) which makes it HIGHLY PROBABLE that you will NOT get a tight connection right off the bat. WORSE YET is the screw heads are VERY SMALL and only a #1 PHILLIPS (not flat combo as shown on several others) so the head wants to strip out immediately too.If you have this problem too, make sure to tighten the wire down, twist the wire 'around' at the connection, retighten and repeat until it will not tighten anymore - that's the best you'll get. ALSO, keep checking the wire going into the connection as the strands can stack up causing the screw to fully stop WAAaaay before it is even close to tight! ~Good luck!!!!!

Easy install. Nice construction

The screws were not able to hold on the wires and I had to replace the outlet for a US outlet. I had to bore out the steel case to install a wire nut. I would not buy this again.

Our electrician was pleased with the quality of this outlet.

This is a very solid piece. That's the good news. the bad news is it is so solid the knock outs would not knock out. I had to drill them. The heavy front "door" does not catch in the up position. Not a problem in use but a bear when trying to instal. The ground lead from box to receptacle is too short. You have to be a digital acrobat to hold up the door while trying to access the terminals for the 10 gage wire. Much cussing by me. Two more inches would have made it easy. The very robust spring which strongly holds the door closed with a ball catch requires significant force to unlatch. This is merely unnecessary and annoying except when the door continually latches when you are installing and need it open. If you are handy, have the time, have a step bit, and have an extra pair of hands for the install, you will be happy with the final result.
