Ateco Standard Plastic Couplers, for Use Cake Decorating Tubes and Bags, Set of 4, 4 Count, White

Per Rufus, these would fit a Wilton 1M, 2A and 2D. For Wilton those are considered XL decorating tips. I know that Ateco sizes are different. I have some Ateco tips and have the Ateco Large Coupler. But those are gigantic and I usually don't use them cause I'm trying to use less frosting then more on my cupcakes. These standard couplers are small and do not fit the Wilton tips I mentioned above. I only ordered them because when I asked the Rufus AI area on this page, it said that many reviews state it fits the Wilton tips. It does not. It doesn't even greatly fit my small Wilton tips, the #1 or #2 which I use for sugar cookies. So I don't recommend these couplers for wilton tips at all. They are still nice couplers, so I'm not removing any stars. They seem more heavy duty than any other brand I've bought. The plastic is thicker and more sturdy.

These pastry couplers are well made and all 4 are in working order as of delivery, but I was unaware that "Standard" was so small, They are too small to fit any of my Ateco tips, the tips range in size from 4 to 8, I just thought that these tips were "standard" size. I will have to buy a larger coupler. If anyone has any recommendations on coupler size to fit these size tips, it would be appreciated. As I can't use these couplers for decoration, I can not comment as to their actual in use effectiveness.

I'm a full-time home-based decorater/Bakery Owner. I decided to try these out because I didn't have to pay shipping as it was an "Add On" item and also because I have consistently enjoyed the Ateco brand so much more over Wilton. After getting these and using these for a couple of months, I will be slowly switching all my couplers over to Ateco. They are much stronger, the seal is so much tighter that Wilton so no chance of leaking or improper seal, and I notice I haven't had any problems with the threads on these couplers at all. With Wilton, after the same kind of use, I either get something that cracks or the threads get stripped after 2-3 months. I am constantly replacing them. These also clean up nicely. Sometimes with Wilton, certain colors stain and it takes several washings for some colors to fade. These clean right up and nothing seems to stain them.

These work with any standard decorating tip. This is an expensive way to make decorating cakes/cupcakes, etc even faster. I put a coupler in each bag before the frosting and didn't cut the end off. My sister arrived to help me out and we sat down with our 7 bags of frosting easily switching tips for different effects. We were able to get 200 cupcakes decorated in less than 30 minutes. Granted, it took almost that long for me to fill all the bags with frosting (or if felt like it took that long). But I was able to to that a couple days ahead of time and keep them in the refrigerator. These are a great time-saver even if you only decorate once a year or so.

I purchased the Ateco Standard Coupler (4 pack) because another cookie decorator had recommended it and she was right! I had received 2 couplers in my decorating kit (by Wilton) but had never used a coupler before. Once I got my new couplers, I compared the two sets and the Ateco is better made, the threads are sturdier than the Wilton couplers and they are easier to thread together. Until you've tried them side-by-side you might not believe me but it is true. I'll have to wait to see if they last longer but since I always grab the Ateco verses the Wilton, I may never use the Wilton enough to know which last longer! The Ateco Couplers are a GREAT product that I would highly recommend!

I bought the suggested "frequently bought together" trio of disposable bags, these couplers, and a set of metal tips. The metal tips are huge and do not fit these tiny couplers. Now I need to either try to return the couplers, or I have to buy smaller tips. Buyer Beware.

Bought these for school so I don't have to change icing bags, like, ever. $2 for 4 couplers can't go wrong. Got 8 of them and classmates are going to stock up as well since they are so convenient. These are sturdy and opaque. Even better than the ones I got in my most recent icing tips kit.
