SUPERB Product - I Couldn't Survive Without It
VELCRO Brand One Wrap Thin Ties, Black, 8 x 1/2-Inch, 100 Count (91140) Today we're looking at the "VELCRO Brand One Wrap Thin Ties, Black, 8 x 1/2-Inch, 100 Count (91140)" from VELCRO Brand. -------------- Introduction: -------------- When I find a product that does the job well, is easy to use and economical; I STICK WITH IT. Rarely does a product successfully combine all three of the above aspects, but this one CERTAINLY DOES. With four computers, three monitors, three routers and three switches (not to mention home theater audio/video gear), you can imagine the amount of cable clutter I have to deal with. There are several possible solutions, and I have used them in varying combinations, but these VELCRO Cable Ties form the BACKBONE for my cable management regimen. They are TRULY INDISPENSIBLE and I simply count NOT do without them! ----------------------- Manufacturer's Claims: ----------------------- * Take control of computer and electronics cord clutter with easily adjustable, reusable hook & loop ties. >>> >>> Yes, in spades! >>> * Perfect for computer, appliance and electronic cord organization, wire management and storage. >>> >>> Again, YES! >>> * Trusted & used in data & network centers across the globe. Wraps onto itself for secure hold >>> >>> The first part I cannot vouch for, but it seems quite reasonable >>> given that the second part is completely TRUE. >>> * 100 Pack of adjustable, reusable, low profile Black VELCRO Brand Thin Ties >>> >>> This is where the TRUE VALUE enters the picture. These are effective >>> and are an ABSOLUTE BARGAIN for the price. They are billed as light- >>> duty but are strong enough for the vast majority of jobs. >>> * Cut it to length or combine ties to make it the perfect length for any application >>> >>> Yes, you can, but I generally just use one tie and wrap the excess >>> back around itself so that I have an intact tie for re-use later. But >>> for tight spaces, you may want to cut them to a specific length. >>> ------ Pros: ------ * Totally effective! * Inexpensive * A generous quantity for the price * A multitude of uses around the home, shop and office ------ Cons: ------ * Not pre-cut >>> >>> This is really a nit rather than a con, but they come in a package >>> of four (4) rolls. Each roll is a continuous strip of ties that are >>> slightly notched to come apart at a specific point. You must be >>> CAREFUL to grasp the two adjoining ties at the PROPER POINT and >>> pull them apart. This way they will separate cleanly. If you just >>> yank "Willy Nilly" at a random point, you risk pulling the ties >>> apart at the wrong spot and ripping the head off one. >>> * Semi-punched through holes >>> >>> Again, a nit. The through holes where you insert the end of the >>> tie back upon itself are NEARLY completely punched through. You >>> must remove the waste scrap manually, but this is quite a simple >>> task. You just have to remember to throw them away otherwise you >>> have tiny VELCRO rectangles lying all over. >>> Despite these two minuscule nits, I really CANNOT see any way the product could be improved. -------------------- Craftsmanship: -------------------- VERY GOOD given the price and usage paradigm. 5 STARS. ------------------ Effectiveness: ------------------ 100% PERFECTLY EFFECTIVE. 5 STARS. ----------------- Price / Value: ----------------- Stunning bargain! At $0.06 each, you'd be hard pressed to find cheaper ones of comparable quality. 5 STARS. ---------------- Ease of Use: ---------------- Duh! Let's just say, you won't need instructions. If you do, give up and take up knitting instead. 5 STARS. ------------------------------- Conclusions and Rating: ------------------------------- This is my third purchase of the "VELCRO Brand One Wrap Thin Ties, Black, 8 x 1/2-Inch, 100 Count (91140)", and I CAN ALWAYS USE MORE as the uses for this product are nearly endless. So today, the "VELCRO Brand One Wrap Thin Ties" garner a PERFECT 5 STARS. I only wish I could give them 10! Great job VELCRO Brand and Amazon! Enjoy!

Great product
I purchased this product to help me organize a huge mass of cords and cables. They work like a charm and have allowed me to restore order to my previously chaotic desktop and electronics drawer. The color is a deep black. The Velcro is strong, with good adhesion. The size is perfect for use with all sorts of cords or cables. The length can be adjusted as needed. They were a great price considering how high quality they are and how many come with each order.

10 Year Review of the No.1 Best Seller
Amazon shows this product (VELCRO Brand ONE-WRAP Cable Ties | 100Pk | 8 x 1/2" Black Cord Organization Straps ) (ASIN: B001E1Y5O6) as the number one seller in the category of "Electrical Cable Ties". I don't doubt that at all, since Velcro is the original. They invented this space. I purchased this 100 pack of Velcro brand ONE-WRAP pass-through cable ties in March of 2012 for $6.99. That comes to 7 cents each. I've used them extensively during that time... just about every power cord, HDMI cable, network cable and power tool in my house has one (or two in the case of laptop charging bricks). I've also given a few away as gifts to family members. They work great and have held up well. The benefit to these particular cable ties is that they stay connected to the cable even when you unwrap it. They loop around and through one end to secure it to the cable. This is best for something that you travel with, like a laptop, but not really necessary if you are organizing a bunch of cables behind your computer or TV. You can find cheaper, or thicker cable straps for bundling bulk cables. I recently moved and although I still have a few left in a box somewhere, I'm considering buying another pack to organize all of our electronics at home and even at work. The problem is that the price has doubled since my first purchase. This his has caused me to look elsewhere, and there appears to be plenty of other options as Velcro brand is definitely not the only game in town. Bottom line - I do recommend the VELCRO Brand ONE-WRAP Cable Ties for the right price (~.07 cents each).

Very nice ties!
I grabbed this 100-pack of VELCRO Brand ONE-WRAP ties, and the 8-inch length really helped with my cable wrangling. You know how some ties are just a hair too short? Not these. 8 inches is a great length. I can actually loop them through the holes in my cable tray to really keep things locked down, which is awesome for a clean setup. At the same time they’re not so long to where it’s a hassle and weird looking when you wrap them around just a couple of cables. It's not just behind the desk either; I've used them for a bunch of random organizing tasks and these have made a huge difference in how tidy everything looks. For a pack of 100, the price feels right, and they feel strong and sturdy. Definitely recommend these if you're after ties with a bit more length for cable management.

Use them on all of my cables!
Great quality and flexibility for organizing all of your cables. I literally put these on all of my cables to keep them organized and from becoming a spaghetti-like mess.

Just so many use cases to satisfy the OCD-leaning brain!
OK, don't need to spend a ton of time extolling the virtues of these bands because plenty of other have done it already. I'll just share my use cases with you: 1. Bog standard cable management. Tie up loose cables so they don't get tangled - tie them to themselves, tie them to other cables, tie them to fixed surfaces, the possibilities are endless. Daisy chain them together to get super long ties. 2. Progressive cable management. The length of the tie + the velcro allows you to segment longer cables into smaller sections. For example, I have a 10ft USB cable, but sometimes I only need 3ft of length and I don't want all 10ft flopping about, so I wrap the tie around the cable in different sections. As the tie is unraveled, it releases each 1.5ft section one at a time, and the remaining length stays fastened together. 3. Shorten backpack straps. You can thread these through the loops in the loose ends of your backpack straps, then roll the straps in on themselves and fasten them at a much shorter length. This prevents the loose ends of your straps from touching the ground if you're carrying your pack by the top handle. 4. Bag/package compression. Sometimes I have small items loose in a bag, but I worry about them shaking out. I can wrap these ties around the bag to compress it down for size and hold the items securely for transit, and unpacking them is a breeze when they're needed again. 5. Carabiner substitute. Anything that has a ring or a loop that needs to attach to other rings/loops, this can do (provided you don't need heavy duty strength). 6. Rubber band substitute. There's not much in my life where using these ties is not a better experience than using rubber bands. Rubber bands degrade, either before you can use them or while they're meant to hold things together. Also, the progressive inelasticity of rubber bands mean you can get to about 80% of the tightness you want, but then looping it one more turn makes it 110% of what you want, which means you need to settle for too tight or not tight enough. These ties give you the exact tension you need and don't break down over time. 7. Janky alterations. I am only slightly ashamed to admit I have used these to (temporarily) tighten a pair of overly loose pants by looping two back belt loops together. Honestly there's probably so many other instances I've used these for either a quick or semi-permanent fix, and the product itself just makes me excited to look around and see what else can be organized with these ties! I can't think of any other product that makes me so irrationally satisfied at this price point.
