SAVE YOUR MONEY TO GO ONTO SOMETHING WORTH THE PRICE!!
I was very excited after reading all the hype accompanying the roll out of this product: a cable that would actually enhance my acoustic guitars amplified sound. Even though it was astronomically priced, I rationalized that if it could deliver what its hawkers promised, then it would be worth the exhorbitant price tag. It can't, it doesn't, it isn't. Is it better than a conventional instrument cable? I can't say that it is. After throwing so much cash down the crapper in purchasing it, I desperately want it to be better than conventional instrument cables. If it is, then it's by such a marginally microscopic amount that it doesn't warrant spending any more for it than for any other brand. The best I can say about Asterope is that it isn't any worse than products that cost eighty per cent less than it does. That's damning with faint praise. Do Not Waste Your Money on this over marketed sham!

Awesome quality cable. Haven't had any issues with it, and the sound coming out of my amp is amazing.

There IS a clear sound difference...
I purchased two of these Asterope cables, a 15ft and a 6ft from another store (that had open box specials). I was surprised at what a big sound difference these cables made! The main startling difference (in the shorter and longer length cable) is how much more bass comes through, and the clarity of the bass. Another functional difference is that these cables are (for some reason) "directional": You plug the black plug into your instrument and the blue side into the amplifier; and it seems to make a difference. I don't think this cable is a "must have" for guitar players, if you like your tone the way it is, then as long as a cable is quiet and durable I think that's fine, it's really subjective. But the Fishman Asterope seems to (somehow) provide more signal from your instrument that gives a fatter (more bass and low mids) tone that is immediately noticeable. For electric bass players however, this cable is really worth a must have. Before you add anything to your signal chain to shape the sound you really need to hear what's coming out of your instrument.
