Good product, good price
I had a DeeZee tailgate assistant like this on my old truck which worked great, this one is cheaper and works just as well, as easy to install and has been on my new truck for probably 3 months and this working as it should. For the price you can’t beat it

Failed after a couple years but worked great up to that point
I love having this. Works great but the first one failed after a couple years. one day, without warning, it leaked all the oil out and stopped working. I did buy another one to try, hoping to get more time out of this one but cheap and easy to install.

Works great on my Silverado
My tailgate was dropping abruptly when I opened it so I replaced the bushings. They did ok for a while and went back to dropping. I saw this and bought it. It was an ok install process. Thank goodness for You Tube because the instruction sheet that came with it was not very clear. Once installed, it does great. We will see how long the shock lasts. For now, I'm happy with it for a relatively inexpensive fix.
