does the flux ring cups lock in like other Jetboil stoves, or does it just sit on top

It only works with the 8 in frying pan and 1.5 L pot. It doesn't work with the cups like the other normal jetboil stoves.

would this fit in a 1 liter cooking pot with 100g canister? I have etekcity version and like having an all-in-one cook pot

Great question! The MightyMo is designed to be used with the Jetboil 1.5L Cooking Pot and the Summit Skillet only not the 1L cooking pot.
