ESSCHERT Design USA 6.7" X 4.8" X 9" Wooden Butterfly House

We chose to release our Lady Bugs by pouring them from their container into this little house while they were still pretty sleepy (coming directly from the fridge). It was SO MUCH FUN to watch them wake up and crawl out and around and all over the little house. We noticed that, for several days, some returned to the little house. Once they were all dispersed, the crickets moved in, so we moved the Lady Bug home to the back yard, and are going to mount it near the garden for our early 2021 spring Lady Bug release. The little house is very sturdy, and exactly what we needed to contain our grandchildren's excitement during the release - without this wonderful product, the boys typically try to pick up the lady bugs or pour them on the ground and end up stepping on them. This was DEFINITELY the better way. Now that the house is no longer on the ground, no other insects have tried to move in. HOWEVER, about 3-4 weeks after release, following moving it to the back yard, we noticed a few lady bugs have been IN or ON the little house. It's been so much fun!

Ladybugs didn’t stay

Arrived with the roof chipped and the front panel cracked in the center.

Functional yet attractive, this ladybug house looks like it's been built to last for a long time and its clever design means I can keep an eye on the inside without leaving the ladybugs vulnerable with any open panels. It's wonderful watching them crawl around it and explore, and the openings on the front are the perfect size to allow them in but not anything larger. Looking forward to having ladybug tenants for (hopefully) years to come!

I love the design, but ladybugs don't want to use it as a home. Bought a container of 100+ live ladybugs and placed the majority of them inside. Within a few hours they were all gone and never returned.

What I was happy with, is that there is info attached explaining to put leaves inside to make the ladybugs more at home. Great design. Going to attach to a pole, but no screw or nail was included to accommodate the hole in the back for the purpose of hanging. Overall, very pleased w/this product.

Super cute. Can’t wait to try it in my garden. Even if lady bugs don’t end up using it, it’s still a cute decor piece.

This is a cute little ladybug house. But i had to get some sandpaper and go over the entire hut to smooth out the jagged edges and rough wood. It seems like it will come apart very easily. For someone who doesn't have the equipment to make one, it works out just fine, knowing that I can reinforce it if that becomes necessary. Of course if the ladybugs decide to have a crazy party I might have to be on standby to put the hut back together! One of the corners got a bit dented during shipping--it arrived in a mylar envelope with no padding.
