I bought Nature Bound Bug Catcher Vacuum with Light Up Critter Habitat Case for my niece's son and he loves it so much. The vacuum sucks the bugs into the receptacle for easy transfer to the case without hurting the bugs. This is an educational experience for a young child and I would recommend for sure.

My kids have wanted this thing for years. Finally caved and purchased. The vacuum action stopped working the first day. Some wire got disconnected inside. My husband had to take apart and fix it. It’s working now. The kids like it when they can use it. Need to be careful not to suck in dirt.

Put 2 different sets of AA battery’s the toy gun don’t work. Now I gotta pay to return it. Nice.. waste of time and $

This a nice little kit for beginner bug collectors. The features of the vacuum pistol are nice in theory and it does work but it struggles with most insects. Simply put the vacuum isn't very strong and the battery compartment is set up in a way that if you close it fully the pistol doesn't power on. You have to play with it a little but once the batteries are properly aligned it does what it's supposed to do. That said this is still a fun kit. My kid loves it and is finding all sorts of critters. Fun kit. Not the best but not the worst.
