Q: what is the depth please?

Top drawers - 3-1/2 inches deep and bottom where I put my hanging folders in, is about 9 inches deep. A great size and is a great furniture piece.

Q: Can the casters be removed?

The functionality of the bottom file drawer will be hindered if the casters are removed. It will not longer have clearance for opening and closing without the additional height off the floor. If you want to add a small wood block (1/2" high by 3" square) or large adhesive felt pads on each of the four corners, you may get the right amount of lift for the bottom drawer to move smoothly. The height of this will also be affected by whether you have carpeting or a wood floor. Q: I need brushed silver hardware. It came with black plastic hardware. How can I order those?

Mine came with brushed metal hardware. Don't kn ow why yours came with black plastic. This is a quality piece of furniture.
