Clever idea
Don't have to bend as far. Saves my back. Plus the top of the bucket has cleaner water than the bottom. This way, you can scrub the towel in clean water without agitating the dirt at the bottom of the bucket.

A no-brained MUST have for anyone washing their vehicle at home!
I love everything about these... they are strong... Then combine them with the FANTASTIC very well made Hudson Exchange 5 Gallon Buckets with their Bottom Grip Handle and HDPE. It makes it a snap to dump out 5 gallons of car wash material. Then I also added Grit Guards & Washboards which easily clear the bottom handle that intrudes into the bottom inside of these buckets (see photos). So the Grit Guards do hover a lil' bit further above the bottom than they do in other 5 gal. buckets. But I personally like how they are a lil' further above the bottom, perhaps more separation of dirt that would settle on the bottom!!! Plus, the Gamma2 Seal Lids fit like a glove (which the Gamma 2's take some good hand strength to install) but it's worth it to keep dust and insects out of the buckets between washes. So essentially I made "custom" color coordinated buckets for my own personal auto detailing... and we will be buying more of these for my wife and her beekeeping... along with the sold separately Snappy Grip handles that I also installed (again, see photos). It’s the lil’ things make a job more pleasurable. 🤓Well I hope this might perhaps be helpful to others out there! 😇

Neat concept - Nice item to have for washing vehicle
I like the idea with a washboard instead of just having a bottom insert. Have used it and works well. Fit my Lowes bucket perfectly. The price is a little step though. I purchased 4 of them for family members for Christmas. Almost $100 for plastic molds. They work and are nice, but wish the price was a little more reasonable.

Car Wash Grit Guard
A must-have if you want to use the 2-bucket car wash method. The 2-bucket car wash method uses two 5 gallon buckets. Each one is full of soapy water and contain grit guards. One bucket rinses the dirty wash mit. The second bucket gives the wash mit more soap. The grit guard keeps the wash mit and the dirt particles separate. The dirt, usually sand, falls to the bottom of the bucket. The grit guard prevents the wash mit from touching the bottom and picking up the dirt. This is important because dirt will scratch your paint. The wash mit is immersed and squeezed in the first bucket. The dirt falls to the bottom. The wash mit is then rinsed in the second soap bucket to pick up clean soap. This is only one variation of this method.A grit guard is important if you follow this 2-bucket method. Another method proposed by Scott (Dallas Paint Correction and Auto Detailing) does not call for a grit guard at all. He uses more than one wash mit and after wiping one car section, he will change to a fresh wash mit. Scott's method uses only one bucket but multiple wash mits. I actually prefer Scott's method because you always use a fresh wash mit for each section of the car. But the 2-bucket method is a good option if your car is only slightly dirty. For example, if your car only has tree pollen and light dust, then you can use the 2-bucket method. Otherwise, it is better to use a fresh wash mit for each section of the car. And with either method, should a wash mit or towel fall to the ground, it gets put away until it can be properly cleaned in the washing machine. Do not use wash mit or a towel that has fallen to the ground because it picked up grains of sand that will scratch your paint. The plastic material is very high quality. It will fit most 5 gallon bucket. Highly recommended if you only have one wash mit.
