My wife takes these at the suggestion of our eye doctor to help keep her eyes moisturized when using her contacts. She likes them more than other fish oils specifically because they do not have a fishy flavor when she burps. They are lemon flavored and while that doesn't make much of a difference when swallowing them, it makes a big difference when the fish burps inevitably happen. They have a compounding effect for eye moisture, so our optometrist told her to take them consistently for 90 days or so before she would notice a difference in her eyes. While they are quite a bit more expensive than what we used to buy, they have considerably more of the omega 3's that are good for keeping your eyes wet if you suffer from dry eyes. The only downside (maybe this is just from buying them from Amazon and not a vitamin shop) is that occasionally there will be a fishy smell from the inside of the bottle, like one of the capsules burst and is leaking fish oil onto the others, even though we have never found any evidence of that. If you're not sensitive to that sort of smell, you can wash them down with water or any other beverage easily enough.

I love the ultra-high levels of EPA & DHA. I love the fact that I don't end up with "fish burps" after I take them. I don't love how large the capsules are. I don't love how expensive they are. I don't love how the last three bottles I have purchased have every single capsule so stuck together that I have to separate the capsules (very carefully) with a spoon to get them out of the bottle. It also makes me wonder if they have been stored in high heat and/or humidity that might be degrading the potency. (see update below) But, I keep buying them because I haven't found anything better. Update 09/11/20 - I just received another bottle - this one 120 capsules vs. the 60 I usually buy. This bottle didn't have the sticking problem the last three orders had. So, I don't know if it is the different size, or the fact that these came from a different seller, but apparently, YMMV.

First off, I am not a doctor. I am not here to discuss the difference in the enhanced absorption of Omega 3 of emulsified or encapsulated fish oil. I recently had PRK eye surgery and my doctor recommended 6 months of use of Omega 3 supplement, more specifically Nordic Naturals ProOmega. I am not sure if he has stock in the company, gets kick backs from the industry, had insider information about why this product is superior to others, nor do I really care. All I know is my doctor recommended it for the recovery of a vital organ... my eyes and that seemed good enough for me. Nordic Naturals is not the cheapest brand on the market and you can find other generic brands significantly cheaper elsewhere. But the other brands always gave the dreaded "fish burps". I have been taking these for well over a month, and they do not taste fishy, nor do they leave me with "fish burps all day. As a matter of fact, I have not had one incident. That alone in my book is worth the extra price. If you want to save money and taste fish all day, buy another brand. If you want to not worry about aftertaste, and can afford it, then buy these.

I'm taking these on the Optometrist recommendation. If I take 2 at a time, I burp them a couple of times over the next few hours. If I take them one at a time, I do not burp them.

I’ve ordered twice. Works well and bonus doesn’t taste awful.
