iKKEGOL Dual Sensor LCD Display Indoor Outdoor Digital Thermometer Hygrometer with Max Min Memory

This is a replacement for a similar thermometer I purchased about ten years ago. It lives in my travel trailer. I’ve drilled a hole just the size of the probe under my kitchen window. I’ve slit a plastic soda straw lengthwise which holds the wire and the probe head sticks beyond it. I can then slide the probe through the hole so that it extends about ten inches beyond the side of the trailer. I’ll then slide the wire out about three to four inches so the probe is surrounded by ambient air. The system works great and is very accurate. The max/min feature gives me the extreme for the day. Highly recommended.

I got this to keep on the kitchen windowsill for a quick reference for the temperature. I like the large easy to read numbers and that it has a wire for the outside temperature probe which will hold up to the elements. The min/max feature is also a nice add-on so that you can track the extremes. The simplicity is also nice---no complicated pushing multiple buttons to get what you want.

I bought this to replace an old HFT's ID/OD thermometer that was getting a bit erratic. I prefer the wired OD sensor over the cold killing battery types with remote OD sensor, so I ordered this one for that very reason. Before installing it and running the OD sensor through the window, I placed it on top of my computer desk for a week to see how accurate or close to matching the 2 sensors were. Unfortunately the OD sensor reading is about 12 degrees colder than the indoor sensor. For $10 it wasn't worth the trouble of returning it.Update: Apparently I posted the review on this thermometer a few days too soon. I got up this morning and checked it to see what the temp was outside and it was completely dead. Checked the battery and it had just started leaking due to the drain. I installed a new battery and the display started flaking out, the C was showing as a E assuming that meant 'Error' I pulled the battery back out and tried another fresh battery, same thing and it kept going blank. So apparently they only last about 9 months before they crap out.

I use it to measure the temperature inside and outside my garage. Take a little time to familiarize yourself with the operation which is not absolutely obvious at first. Once you get the hang of it, it is a good unit.

I was disappointed to find the probe did not measure humidity, and that was sated in the fine print online but I missed it. Humidity accuracy seems to be about what I expected it to read. Hygrometers are notoriously inaccurate as is the case with the ThermoPro unit that was replaced by this one which read 15% higher and I knew to be incorrect.

UPDATE: I sent these back. They are not accurate AT ALL. Same temp near a heat lamp and in the freezer. Very slow to adjust , and there was 10* difference between the 2 thermometers I received.It is the simplest things that makes a product frustrating. This is a good thermometer, easy to use and read with an extra long probe cord. It is designed with a leg that folds DOWN from top so when you stand it on a flat top the leg will FOLD UP and the thermometer will fall down. If you're okay with hanging it up in the slot provided, or laying it flat this seems to be a great item. I needed it to sit up so I could read it from a distance. Maybe I could learn to read it upside down?!
